Collapsible manual wheelchair system for improved propulsion and transfers
A manual wheelchair including a collapsible frame having a first lateral member that is connected to first and second braces at their respective first ends. A drive wheel axel extends along a first axis of rotation and engages a drive wheel, the first brace, and a portion of a transmission. A push rim axel extends along a second axis of rotation and engages a push rim wheel, the second brace, and a portion of the transmission, which transmits rotation of the push rim to rotation of the drive wheel. The collapsible frame additionally includes a second lateral member that is connected to the first and second braces as their respective second ends. The first and second braces are configured to release the second lateral member to collapse the manual wheelchair.
Compact Wheelchair Assembly with Removable Wheels and Methods Therefor
A wheelchair (100) includes a chassis (101) defining a seat (102), a backrest (103), one or more armrests (104,105), and an undercarriage (106). One or more front caster wheels (118,119) are coupled to, and selectively detachable from, the undercarriage. One or more rear wheel assemblies (120,121) each include a rear wheel (125), an axle (127), and a mounting post (129) extending distally from the axle at a substantially orthogonal angle relative to the axle. One or more quick release devices (130,131) couple each mounting post of each rear wheel assembly to the undercarriage such that the each the one or more rear wheel assemblies is selectively detachable from the undercarriage.
MODULAR WHEELCHAIR SYSTEM
A convertible transport system including a seat portion and a wheeled portion that is couplable to the seat portion. The seat portion is reclinable whether or not coupled to the wheeled portion.

WHEELCHAIR
To facilitate attachment of a seat and suppress rattling of the attached seat, a seat frame is provided with a frame abutment section that abuts a side frame from one side in a left-right direction; an abutment member that abuts the side frame from the other side in the left-right direction; and a shaft member that supports the abutment member in a manner to allow rotation thereof about an axis extending in a body front-rear direction with respect to a body portion of the seat frame. The side frame includes a convex section that protrudes upward, the convex section pressing the abutment member from below during attachment of the seat frame and thereby causing the abutment member to rotate in a direction in which a portion of the abutment member below the axis abuts the side frame.
WHEELCHAIR
A folding wheelchair which prevents unexpected unfolding includes an upper support arm and a lower support arm coupling a left side frame and a right side frame foldable in an up-down direction in central portions thereof in a left-right direction. An engaged section is provided in at least one of the upper support arm and the lower support arm. An engagement section engages the engaged section to prevent relative displacement in the up-down direction of the central portions of the upper support arm and the lower support arm in the left-right direction. An operation section switches operation of the engagement section from an engagement state with the engaged section to an unengaged state.
Convertible wheelchair
The present invention relates to a convertible wheelchair with a removable wheel assembly that can be replaced by a stationary stand for use at the beach and other loose gravel and sand locations.
Wheelchair
A wheelchair having a seat assembly and a base assembly. The base assembly includes a central frame, rear wheels, and leg assemblies. The leg assemblies are movable between at least a first position and a second position, which enables the leg assemblies to be stowed away when not in use. The seat assembly includes a seat component, a backrest component, and opposing side structures. The backrest component is connected to, and pivotable about, the side structures such that it may be folded down for storage or reclined for more comfortable sitting. The side structures include adjustable armrest assemblies that enable vertical adjustments of the armrests.
