MOBILITY AID

A mobility aid, comprising a first frame member, a second frame member, and at least one pivoting member, which is connected to the first frame member and is pivotably mounted about a pivot axis to the second frame member. The pivoting member can be moved into a use position and into a transport position relative to the second frame member. A first locking device locks the pivoting member relative to the second frame member whenever the pivoting member is in the use position. A second locking device locks the first frame member relative to the second frame member whenever the pivoting member is in the transport position.

TRANSFERABLE WHEELCHAIR WIDTH ADJUSTER
20190240091 · 2019-08-08 ·

A transferable wheelchair width adjuster that can be attached to the lower frame of a folding wheelchair allowing the wheelchair to be narrowed to varying widths so as to accommodate entry through doorways that otherwise would be impassable. Narrowing the profile of a standard wheelchair also allows the chair to accommodate more comfortably a smaller individual, such as a small child. No modification of the original wheelchair construction is necessary. The width adjuster described herein can be attached and removed manually without the need of tools.

MODULAR LINKING SYSTEM, WHEELCHAIR KIT AND WHEELCHAIR

A modular linking system provides a positioning and supporting structure for mounting various components, particularly on a wheelchair structure. A wheelchair kit includes such a modular linking system and further wheelchair includes at least one modular linking system or at least one wheelchair kit.

A convertible transport system including a seat portion, a back support portion, and a pivoting mechanism coupled to the seat portion and to the back support portion. The pivoting mechanism is configured to adjust and lock the back support portion relative to the seat portion, the pivoting mechanism having three operative states: a free pivoting state allowing the back support portion to pivot relative to the seat portion about an axis; a ratcheting state allowing the back support portion to only pivot toward the seat portion about the axis; and a locking state in which the pivoting mechanism is locked to thereby prevent a pivoting movement of the back support portion relative to the seat portion.

Patient transport apparatus having caster assembly biasing mechanisms

A patient transport apparatus including a support structure movable between a chair configuration for traversing floor surfaces and a stowed configuration for storage. A seat section is pivotably coupled to the support structure. A caster assembly includes a pin coupled to the support structure and defining a swivel axis, a caster frame arranged to pivot about the swivel axis between a plurality of caster orientations, a wheel coupled to the caster frame and arranged for engagement with the floor in the chair configuration, and a biasing mechanism interposed between the caster frame and the pin. The biasing mechanism urges the caster frame toward a stowed caster orientation in response to disengagement between the wheel and floor surfaces occurring as the support structure moves from the chair configuration to the stowed configuration.

COLLAPSIBLE MOBILITY AID

A collapsible mobility aid with two frame elements, on each of which at least one wheel is secured or can be secured, and with a folding mechanism by which the frame elements are connected to each other, and a distance between the frame elements in a first position of the folding mechanism can be adapted to a transport distance and in a second position of the folding mechanism can be adapted to a use distance, wherein the folding mechanism has a central element with a slide arranged moveably with respect thereto, at least two connection arms which are each articulated on a frame element and on the central element, and at least two levers which are each articulated on a connection arm and on the slide, wherein the swivel axes, about which the levers are arranged on the connection arms and the slide such that they can be swiveled, are on one plane when the folding mechanism is in the second position.

A foldable wheelchair having side frames arranged on both sides of the wheelchair, a cross-strut assembly and seat tubes for receiving a seat cover, wherein the cross-strut assembly is mounted, in regions remote from the seat tube, about parallel pivot axes in the side frame, and the axis of rotation of the struts of the cross-strut assembly is arranged parallel to the pivot axes of the cross-strut assembly, and the cross-strut assembly is connected to the seat tubes, which, in the unfolded position of the wheelchair, are received by seat tube bearings of the side frames, wherein the wheelchair has guide levers on both sides, and the respective guide lever is mounted, in a first region, in a strut of the cross-strut assembly, in a region of the cross-strut assembly between the axis of rotation of the struts of the cross-strut assembly and the seat tube, and this guide lever is mounted at a distance therefrom, in a second region, in the side frame assigned to the seat tube so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis, wherein this pivot axis is arranged parallel to the pivot axes of the cross-strut assembly in the side frames. The guide lever has a guide slot in its first region, and a guide pin, which engages in the guide slot, is connected to the strut assigned to the guide lever, and a cam is connected to the strut, and a cam follower is connected to the guide lever in its first region, wherein the cam and the cam follower interact in an end phase of the unfolding process of the wheelchair for the purpose of displacing the guide pin into a defined position in the guide slot.

Wheelchair

It is an object to make it easy to unfold a wheelchair simply by lifting a part of the wheelchair with one hand. A wheelchair includes a folding mechanism that folds a left-side support arm and a right-side support arm. The folding mechanism includes a grip part coupled to the distal end part of the left-side support arm and the distal end part of the right-side support arm. The grip part extends in the pivoting direction of the left-side support arm and the right-side support arm at a time of switching from a folded state to an unfolded state.

COLLAPSIBLE WHEELCHAIR

The present application provides a collapsible wheelchair, including a front support frame, a backrest bracket, a rear support frame and a bracket connecting rod, which are hinged with each other to form a first connecting rod mechanism; the seat connecting rod is hinged with the front support frame and a seat bracket respectively; the front support frame, the backrest bracket, the seat bracket and the seat connecting rod form a second connecting rod mechanism; a hinge point of the backrest bracket and the seat bracket is located above a central plane of the seat bracket.
