Integrated-bed mattress and integrated bed
A mattress can be adapted to an integrated bed that includes a main bed unit, and a wheelchair unit that is separable from the main bed unit and has a wheelchair back bottom, a wheelchair hip bottom and a wheelchair foot bottom. The mattress includes a first protrusion configured to be fastened to a back-section hole in the wheelchair back bottom, a fastener configured to be fastened to the wheelchair hip bottom, and a second protrusion configured to be fastened to a foot-section hole in the wheelchair foot bottom.
Cushion for seating
A hybrid seating cushion made up of a cushion base and a cushion insert. The cushion base has a seating surface in which a void in or extending through the cushion base is formed. A cushion insert such as an air bladder or fluid sack is positioned within the void. A lip or upper surface around an opening in the void overhangs at least a portion of the cushion insert, thereby minimizing the size and corresponding negative effects of a transition area where the base and the insert overlap.
Portable cushion and method of use
An inflatable cushion comprising; a cover; a base; a communication device; a microcontroller; a power source; a gas pump; a primary tube; a blow off valve; two-way valves; a plurality of secondary tubes; and a plurality of bladder pods with pressure sensors.
THERMOELECTRIC STRING, PANEL, AND COVERS FOR FUNCTION AND DURABILITY
A thermoelectric device comprising an elongated panel of two foam layers, and having an inserted thermoelectric string is incorporated into a seat cushion, planting pot, and battery thermal manager. Several enhancements to the string and the panel improve its durability, visual appeal, and tactile appeal over the prior art.
System and method for cushion inflation
A system includes a client application executed by a client computing device for setting up an inflation level and checking an inflation level of an inflatable cushion having at least one air cell or zone and at least one pressure sensor within the cushion that detects air pressure. The client computing device communicates with the inflatable cushion and determines an optimal inflation level for a user of the inflatable cushion.
Wheelchair adornment system
A wheelchair adornment system includes a wheelchair has a pair of wheels, a pair of arm rests, a pair of leg supports, a chair and a backrest. A plurality of guards is provided and each of the guards is removably coupled to a selected point on the wheelchair. Thus, each of the guards may conceal associated parts of a user's body. A pair of fenders is provided and each of the fenders is coupled to the wheelchair. Each of the fenders is positioned over an associated one of the wheels. A canopy is removably coupled to the wheelchair configured to shade the user.
Three-dimensional net-like structure
A three-dimensional net-like structure is provided that has a soft cushioning property and less variations of hardness and is less expensive. The three-dimensional net-like structure is made from a thermoplastic resin including a mixture of a polypropylene copolymer (a) and a polypropylene copolymer (b) and has a spring structure formed by bonding continuous filaments partly in random in loops. The polypropylene copolymer (a) has a flexural modulus that is different from a flexural modulus of the polypropylene copolymer (b).
Wheelchair injury-prevention device and method of use
A resiliently-deformable unitary polymer body configured to be removably installed on a wheelchair footrest bracket may comprise first and second keyhole-shaped openings on a first side of the body for snapping-on to the wheelchair frame tube and the pivot pin or post on the footrest bracket, respectively. Additionally, a planar cavity may be located in the body, intersecting perpendicularly the first and second keyhole-shaped openings, and open at least in part to the first side, for receiving at least partially therein a planar blade portion of the footrest bracket. Opposite the first side, cushioned second and front sides of the body are designed to be positioned toward the front of the wheelchair to protect a user's legs. The body may be symmetrical about a horizontal plane so that it can be flipped over and used on both left and right sides of a wheelchair. Methods of use are provided.
User control device for a transporter
A user control device for a transporter. The user control device can communicate with the transporter via electrical interface(s) that can facilitate communication and data processing among the user interface device and controllers that can control the movement of the transporter. The user control device can perform automated actions based on the environment in which the transporter operates and the user's desired movement of the transporter. External applications can enable monitoring and control of the transporter.
Variable stiffness apparatuses using an interconnected dual layer fluid-filled cell array
Variable stiffness apparatuses using an interconnected dual layer fluid-filled cell array. One example of the present apparatuses comprises: a substrate having a first side and a second side; and a plurality of structures coupled to the substrate, where each structure comprises: a flexible first portion having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall extending between the first end and the second end, the first portion defining a first chamber; and a second portion having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall extending between the first end and the second end, the second portion defining a second chamber in fluid communication with the first chamber; where each of the plurality of structures is coupled to the substrate such that the first portion is disposed on the first side of the substrate, and the second chamber is disposed on the first side or the second side of the substrate.
