Lifting, mobility, and rehabilitation apparatus for disabled patients

A mobility device that includes support assemblies that may be secured to feet, legs, thighs, and torso of a user. An exemplary mobility device may further include an actuator that may be coupled with the exemplary support assemblies and may actuate rotational movements of the exemplary support assemblies with respect to each other. Such movement of support assemblies may accordingly move respective limbs of a disabled user. An exemplary mobility device may allow for a user to change position from a lying position to a standing position or from a standing position to a sitting position, which may significantly increase mobility of a disabled user. An exemplary mobility device may further include an exemplary wheeled base that may allow a disabled user to further move around.

Reclining Wheelchair Apparatus

A reclining wheelchair apparatus for providing a convenient way for wheelchair users to rest or be cared for includes a chair base frame and a plurality of wheels coupled to the chair base frame. A seat bottom is coupled to a base top side and a pair of pivot brackets is pivotably coupled to a base top side adjacent the base back side. A chair back is coupled to the pair of pivot brackets and moves between an upright position and a reclined position. The pair of pivot brackets rests on a pair of bracket supports when the chair back is in the reclined position. A pair of locking pins is coupled to the pair of pivot brackets and selectively engages with the base top side to secure the chair back in the upright position.

BAR HANDLE DEVICE

A bar handle device includes a fixing portion attached to a steering mechanism, a short portion to which grips are attached, and a long portion connecting the short portion and the fixing portion. The long portion is composed of a first bar member and a second bar member interconnected in serial, and includes a cross-linking member connecting the first bar member and the second bar member.

Convertible wheelchair

A convertible wheelchair system, between a wheelchair configuration and an all-terrain configuration, is provided. Embodiments include a central frame aligned along a central longitudinal axis, the central frame having a front and back bar parallel to each other and orthogonal to the central longitudinal axis, paired side bars aligned with the central longitudinal axis, and paired wheel cages, aligned with the central longitudinal axis and attached to the front and back bars, each wheel cage supporting an axle and a wheel mounted thereon. The system further includes a forward beam alignable with the central longitudinal axis, configured to support a forward wheel, and reversibly attached to the front bar. The convertible wheelchair is in the all-terrain configuration when the forward beam is attached to the frame, and the wheelchair configuration when the forward beam is detached from the frame, the central frame thereby standing without the forward beam.

System for controlling assistive technologies and related method
11291385 · 2022-04-05 · ·

A system controls assistive technologies with an assistive tool for users with movement and/or communication disorders. The system includes an electronic communication interface, a biometric sensor, a calibration module and a processing unit. The interface presents users with stimuli associated with commands and/or information that the user might select. The sensor detects the user's biometric activity and generates a biometric electrical signal. During initial calibration, the calibration module records signal characteristics associated with a biometric electrical signal detected with voluntary biometric activity. The processing unit recognizes, based on the biometric electrical signal and the signal characteristics, the user's voluntary biometric activity and commands and/or information the user wants to select. The processing unit provides control signals to the interface and the assistive tool, based on the user's selection preferences. The interface presents stimuli based on the presentation control signal, if present, or presents a scan of stimuli.
