Support Devices Including Collapsible Casters
A support device includes a base member, a caster assembly coupled to the base member including a caster pivotally coupled to the base member, at least two planar members positioned above the caster and pivotally coupled to one another by at least two opposing hinges, and a shaft positioned between the at least two opposing hinges and extending through the at least two planar members.
ADAPTIVE TRACK ASSEMBLY
A multi-terrain transport apparatus, such as a motorized wheelchair, that allows adjustment of the terrain-contacting surface area of a continuous track depending on the terrain encountered by the transport apparatus.
MANUAL WHEELCHAIR PROPULSION AID DEVICE USING MECHANICAL SELF-ENERGIZING ACTION
A propulsion assist device connected to a manual wheelchair to provide driving force is disclosed. The propulsion assist device provides sufficient driving force and braking force while using the motor by the self-energizing effect. The propulsion assist device can be easily connected to manual wheelchairs without the need for bending over. The self-energizing effect is provided in a mechanical way, and the risk of failure is low due to the simple structure of the device.
The propulsion assist device is economically priced, enabling the elderly and disabled to improve their self-esteem as members of society and engage in safer and more active social activities.
Wheelchair accessory device for increased mobility
This document describes accessory devices for wheelchairs. For example, this document describes wheelchair accessory devices that include a wheel and foot pedals so that a wheelchair user can use his/her legs to propel the wheelchair by pedaling.
Conveyance for surmounting obstacles
A conveyance for surmounting obstacles which includes a first ground engaging arrangement, and a second ground engaging arrangement, and the first and second ground engaging arrangements are operable to move in an alternating sequence of movements to enable the conveyance to surmount obstacles. The conveyance is statically balanced alternately by one then the other of the ground engaging arrangements throughout the sequence of movements. Each ground engaging arrangement includes a forwardly disposed portion and a rearwardly disposed portion which are spaced apart from one another. Each ground engaging arrangement further includes an obstacle accommodating region located between the forwardly disposed portion and the rearwardly disposed portion which can accommodate a portion of an obstacle being surmounted during use.
FOLDING ELECTRIC WHEELCHAIR with ELEVATING SEAT
A folding electric wheelchair with elevating seat that provides the user an electronic driving system powered by two lithium-ion batteries that is sealed to be weatherproof, able to drive over different terrain types and slope grades on any given day whether it's raining or sunny, lightweight, and portable for transportation, travel-friendly, compact in overall size when in the folded position to fit into a small space for storage. An ergonomically contoured seat with an actuator that can raise and lower the seat base overall height. A bump dampening and terrain vibration system with the supporting frame pieces (34), (42), and (50) having an oval shape. The manner of how the embodiment operates to fold and unfold consists of specific hinge joint embodiments including: (46), (48), (58) and (64).
Suspension for wheeled vehicles
A wheelchair suspension comprises a frame, at least one pivot arm, at least one front caster, at least one rear caster, a stabilizing system, and a sensor. The pivot arm is coupled to the frame. The front caster is coupled to the pivot arm. The rear caster is coupled to the frame. The stabilizing system is coupled to the frame and the pivot arm. The sensor is arranged such that tipping of the frame causes actuation of the stabilizing system to at least partially resist further movement of the frame.
WHEELCHAIR SUSPENSION
A suspension for a vehicle is provided. The suspension includes, for example, a frame, at least one drive assembly and at least one caster pivot arm. The at least one drive assembly and the at least one caster pivot arm are pivotally connected to the frame such that the drive assembly and the front caster pivot arm are pivotable relative to one another.
SUSPENSION SYSTEM FOR POWER WHEELCHAIR STANDER
A wheelchair including a frame and a suspension system. The suspension system may have at least one front caster arm pivotally connected to the frame, a front caster connected to the front caster arm, a first link, and a second link. The first link is pivotally connected to the frame, and the second link is slidably connected to the front caster arm and pivotally connected to the first link.
