A tracked powered chair is described. A side drive assembly comprises a powered sprocket, a forward non-powered two wheel bogey, and a rearward non-powered two wheel bogey. Each bogey has a respective pivot member pivotally fastened at a first pivot member end between the first and second bogey wheels, and a second pivot member end fastened to the frame such that the forward and rearward bogey each pivot independently from one another around its respective pivot member. The geometry of the drive assembly creates a non-isosceles shaped triangular appearance (no two sides are of equal length).

Several embodiments of wheeled vehicles, such as wheelchairs, that are adapted to traverse obstacles are disclosed. The wheeled vehicles include a frame, drive wheels, front anti-tip wheels positioned in front of the drive wheels, and rear anti-tip wheels positioned behind the drive wheels. One exemplary vehicle includes front anti-tip wheels supported by rigid arms that are fixed to the frame and drive assemblies that are independently suspended from the frame. Another exemplary vehicle includes a linkage that links the front and rear anti-tip wheels, such that movement of one of the front anti-tip wheel or the rear anti-tip wheel relative to the frame causes movement of the other wheel relative to the frame.

Mobility Device

A powered balancing mobility device that can provide the user the ability to safely navigate expected environments of daily living including the ability to maneuver in confined spaces and to climb curbs, stairs, and other obstacles, and to travel safely and comfortably in vehicles. The mobility device can provide elevated, balanced travel.

Stability control system

Embodiments of a suspension for a vehicle is provided. The suspension includes, for example, a frame and a locking assembly. The locking assembly inhibits tipping of a frame of the vehicle when tipping of the frame is detected.

Patient support apparatus with stabilization

A patient support apparatus includes a base, a seat supported by the base and a backrest pivotable between an upright position and a reclined position. In one embodiment, a backrest support member is coupled to the backrest and is adapted to move between a stowed position in which the backrest support member does not support the backrest and a deployed position in which the backrest support member does support the backrest. Movement to the deployed position occurs in response to activation of an emergency control. In other embodiments, the base includes a portion that moves into an extended position underneath the backrest when the backrest is in the reclined position. Movement of the base portion to the extended position also occurs in response to activation of an emergency control.

Elevated height wheelchair

Embodiments of the present disclosure include a wheelchair configured to reposition an occupant between a lowered and a raised position. The wheelchair can include a frame, a seat moveable relative to the frame, a drive wheel, and one or more pairs of arm assemblies. The arm assembly includes a wheel configured to move from a first spatial location when the wheel chair is operating on flat, level ground to a second spatial location that is different than the first spatial location. Arm limiters can selectively engage the arm assembly based on at least one of a seat position, position of the arm assembly and surface conditions of ground surface. The arm limiters can limit the range of motion of the arm assembly and sometimes other operational aspects of the chair.

A mobility chair has a base frame with a seat bottom, a seatback, motorized drive wheels, and safety wheels, an actuated hoist with a mast, boom, winch, and sling that has a stowed configuration and an operative configuration, and outriggers that have a retracted configuration proximate to the base frame and an extended configuration ahead of the mobility chair. The boom is raised and its forward portion is rotated ahead of the frontmost section of the seat while its rear portion remains behind the boom. The seatback can be raised from the base frame and can also be hingedly connected to the seat bottom which rotates relative to the base frame through a bracket in the front section so that as the seatback is raised, the seat bottom rotates with the seatback into an upright standing configuration with the seat bottom aligned with the seatback in the vertical orientation.
