METHODS AND DEVICES FOR REPOSITIONING A PATIENT ON A SUPPORT APPARATUS
Various implementations include a device for moving a person on a support apparatus. The device includes a base, an expandable volume, a slider, and a sheet. The base has a support apparatus coupler for coupling the device to a portion of a support apparatus. The expandable volume is coupled to the base and is actuatable from a first position to a second position. A first portion of the sheet is stationary with respect to the base. The sheet extends from adjacent a first side of the expandable volume, over the expandable volume, around a portion of the slider adjacent a second side of the expandable volume, over the expandable volume, and over the first side of the expandable volume. Actuation of the expandable volume from the first position to the second position increases a length of the sheet from the second side to the first side of the expandable volume.
Modular device for dorsal protection
The modular device for dorsal protection suitable to be worn by a wearer includes at least two holding elements arranged one beneath the other and suitable for receiving, on the front face thereof, the back of the wearer. The holding elements are interconnected, in pairs, on the rear face thereof, by at least one hinged connection, each hinged connection ensuring the link between two adjacent holding elements. Each hinged connection includes at least two degrees of torsional freedom and bending freedom such that each holding element and each hinged connection or joining part moves in relation to the other under the action of the movements of the wearer, while ensuring that the device is maintained in contact with the back of the wearer.
Mobility device seat
A seat for a mobility device accommodating flexibility, personalized comfort, and transportability. The seat can include a button push means to enable movement of a height-adjustable armrest. The seat back can fold upon the seat for transportability. The seat cushion and armrest cushion can be removably mounted and separately replaceable. The seat can be mounted upon various types of devices, including, but not limited to, wheelchairs.
ADJUSTABLE ANATOMICAL SUPPORT AND SEAT CUSION APPARATUS FOR WHEELING CHAIRS
An adjustable anatomical support and seat cushion apparatus for wheelchairs according to some embodiments of the disclosure includes a base member formed of at least one layer of a thermoplastic honeycomb material, a generally rectangular, resilient cushion member formed of upper, intermediate and lower layers of thermoplastic honeycomb material which are bonded together, and at least one pad removably insertable into a pocket in the lower layer. The base member is pivotally attached to the cushion member. The cushion member is rotatable between a non-parallel disposition and a parallel disposition relative to the base member. An open end of the pocket faces the base member when the cushion member is in the parallel disposition.
Seat assembly
A seat assembly for a mobility scooter has a seat portion for supporting an operator of the mobility scooter in use and a yoke arranged to receive the seat portion. The yoke has a mounting formation for mounting to a support member of the mobility scooter such that the yoke is removably mounted atop the support member and the seat portion is removably mounted atop the yoke in use. The yoke also has an attachment formation for releasable attachment of an arm-rest and a back-rest for the seat portion. The seat portion can be lifted off the yoke as a first component. The yoke can be lifted off the support member as a further component when removing the seat assembly from the mobility scooter.
Support system and method
A posture support system for a person supporting appliance comprising: a module (300), each module (300) comprising: an expandable body (20), means (60) for changing the degree of expansion of the expandable body (20); a sensor (27) configured to produce measurement data corresponding to the degree of expansion of the expandable body (2); a processor (116) arranged to process the measurement data generated from the sensor (27); and a wireless communication unit (114) arranged to transmit the measurement data wirelessly to a controller (320) and receive control data to control the degree of expansion of the expandable body (20).
Adjustable Extremity Suspension Apparatus
An Adjustable Extremity Suspension Apparatus for supporting patient limbs, the apparatus ambidextrous and adaptable to be mounted on various appliances in proximity a patient and configurable to accommodate specialized support and position needs. The Adjustable Extremity Suspension Apparatus comprising a longitudinally elongated tray-type frame that creates an elongated channel into which a longitudinally elongated elastic sheet drapes in order to form a flexible, saddle-like structure. Selectable materials, attachments and mounting provide user-configurable extremity support and ease o use.
Valve assembly for cushion inflation
The present disclosure generally relates to a manifold valve assembly engaged to an inflatable apparatus, such as a cushion to prevent pressure ulcers, for example. The manifold valve assembly is also in communication with a processing device to determine an optimal immersion level for a user seated on the inflatable apparatus. Additionally the processing device, in communication with the manifold valve assembly may save optimal immersion or air pressure levels for comparison to future checks of cushion pressure and send that to a user interface at the processing device. The assembly and processing device may also save and dis play a history of pressure checks.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING A SEATED PATIENT
An apparatus is configured for use with a chair having a supporting surface, and includes a bottom member adapted to be placed above the supporting surface of the chair. The bottom member includes a cushioning member in the form of a bladder. The bladder includes at least two internal chambers. A first of the at least two internal chambers extends from a rear edge disposed inwardly proximate a center of the bladder and a second of the at least two internal chambers extends peripherally around three inner sides of the first internal chamber. The apparatus further includes a top member having a bottom surface positioned in confronting relation to the bottom member and a top surface opposite the bottom surface.
Slouch correction device and method
A slouch correction device and method for use on a seating surface of a chair or bed. The device comprises a flexible fabric sheet and a drawing mechanism associated with the fabric sheet. When actuated the drawing mechanism draws the fabric toward the back support, drawing the user's buttocks toward the back support.
