Methods and compositions for forming three-dimensional objects by additive fabrication
A method of forming a three-dimensional object comprises the steps of forming a layer of a particulate composition, selectively depositing a liquid composition onto the layer of the particulate composition in accordance with computer data corresponding to the shape of at least a portion of a three-dimensional object, and repeating the steps a plurality of times to form a three-dimensional object. The particulate composition comprises a plurality of first particles that comprise a resin component comprising a first resin, the first resin comprising a first resin polymerizable group. Either or both of the particulate composition and the liquid composition comprise an initiator capable of initiating polymerization of at least the first resin. At least the first resin undergoes melting and polymerization in a plurality of the locations where the liquid composition has been selectively deposited.
Polyurethane prepolymer with high functionality, method of preparing the same, and curing agent comprising the same
Provided are a method of preparing a polyurethane prepolymer with high functionality and the polyurethane prepolymer with high functionality prepared therefrom and a curing agent comprising the same. The method includes the steps of: Step (A): providing an alcohol composition comprising a first polyol having 2 or 3 OH groups and a second polyol having 4 or more OH groups; Step (B): reacting the alcohol composition with a polyisocyanate to undergo a first polymerization, so as to obtain an intermediate; wherein a molar ratio of a total number of the OH groups of the alcohol composition to a total number of NCO groups of the polyisocyanate is from 1:2 to 1:6; and Step (C): adding a catalyst to carry out a second polymerization of the intermediate to obtain the polyurethane prepolymer with high functionality, which has four or more NCO groups.

Provided herein are curable compositions for use in a high temperature lithography-based photopolymerization process, a method of producing crosslinked polymers using said curable compositions, crosslinked polymers thus produced, and orthodontic appliances comprising the crosslinked polymers.

The present invention relates to a coating composition, a coating system comprising the coating composition, a coating method and application of the coating system, and a product coated with the coating system. The coating composition comprises: (A) at least one aqueous polyurethane dispersion and/or one aqueous polyacrylate dispersion, wherein the aqueous polyurethane dispersion comprises at least one polyurethane polymer (a), wherein the polyurethane polymer (a) is obtained by a reaction comprising at least one polyurethane prepolymer (a1) and at least one isocyanate-reactive component (a2), wherein the polyurethane prepolymer (a1) is obtained by a reaction comprising the following components: (a1-1) at least one polyisocyanate having an isocyanate functionality of no less than 2, and (a1-2) at least one polyfunctional polyether polyol having a hydroxyl functionality of no less than 3, wherein the polyfunctional polyether polyol has an amount of 1 wt % to 20 wt %, based on the amount of the components for preparing the polyurethane prepolymer being 100 wt %, and (B) at least one crosslinking agent.
Polymeric material including a uretdione-containing material and an epoxy component, two-part compositions, and methods
The present disclosure provides a polymeric material including a polymerized reaction product of a polymerizable composition including components and has a solids content of 90% or greater. The components include a uretdione-containing material including a reaction product of a diisocyanate reacted with itself; a first hydroxyl-containing compound; an optional second hydroxyl-containing compound having a single OH group, wherein; and an epoxy component. The first hydroxyl-containing compound has more than one OH group and the optional second hydroxyl-containing compound is a primary alcohol or a secondary alcohol. The present disclosure also provides a two-part composition, in which the polymeric material is included in the first part and the second part includes at least one amine. Further, a method of adhering two substrates is provided, including obtaining a two-part composition; combining at least a portion of the first part with at least a portion of the second part to form a mixture; disposing at least a portion of the mixture on a first substrate; and contacting a second substrate with the mixture disposed on the first substrate. The disclosure also provides a polymeric material and a method of making a two-part composition. Advantageously, two-part compositions according to the present disclosure can be used as coatings and adhesive systems with handling and performance similar to existing two-part urethane systems, but with less sensitivity to water.

The particulate composition comprises a plurality of first particles that comprise a resin component comprising a first resin, the first resin comprising a first resin polymerizable group, the first resin polymerizable group comprising a carbon-carbon double bond directly attached to an electron withdrawing group, a thermal radical initiator dispersed or dissolved in the resin component, and a retardant dispersed or dissolved in the resin component.
Orthodontic Articles Comprising Polymerized Composition with Pendent Cyclic Moieties, Methods, and Polymerizable Compositions
Polymerizable compositions suitable for use for 3D printed (e.g. orthodontic) articles, especially orthodontic alignment trays, are described. The polymerizable composition comprises a) 30-70 parts by weight of (meth)acrylate monomer(s); and b) urethane (meth)acrylate polymer; wherein the reaction product comprises at least 1 wt. % polymerized units of a multifunctional compound comprising pendent cyclic moieties. The orthodontic article comprises the reaction product of a polymerizable composition as described herein. The urethane (meth)acrylate polymer typically comprises polymerized units of a multifunctional compound comprising pendent cyclic moieties and/or at least one (meth)acrylate monomer comprises polymerized units of a multifunctional compound comprising pendent cyclic moieties. Also described are methods of making an article, non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising data representing a three-dimensional model of an article, and systems.
ELASTOMERIC ADHESIVES COMPRISING BIO-DERIVED COMPOUNDS
The present disclosure addresses elastomeric adhesives and elastomers that include a modified amine. The modified amine can be the reaction product of an amine with a Michael acceptor. The amine can be represented by H.sub.2N—Ar—R.sup.1—NH.sub.2, wherein Ar is an arylene and R1 is selected from an alkylene and alkenylene. The Michael acceptor can be selected from a variety of compounds including maleates, fumarates, acrylates, and others.
PRECURSOR FORMULATIONS FOR A LINER, A ROCKET MOTOR INCLUDING THE LINER, AND RELATED METHODS
A precursor formulation of a liner comprising a polymer and at least two curatives is disclosed. One of the at least two curatives comprises a curative formulated to preferentially react with the polymer and the other of the at least two curatives comprises a blocked curative formulated to be substantially unreactive with the polymer. A method of lining a rocket motor is also disclosed, as is a rocket motor including the liner.
