The method includes contacting a blocked isocyanate and a halide ion source under conditions effective to provide a deblocked isocyanate. A method of making a polyurethane is also disclosed. The method of making a polyurethane includes combining a blocked isocyanate, a polyol, and a halide ion source in the presence of solvent and under conditions effective to provide the polyurethane.

The system demonstrates a high degree of crosslinking and produces a cured coating with optimal crosslinking and corrosion resistance.

REINFORCING FILM

A reinforcing film comprises a pressure sensitive adhesive layer laminated and fixed on a principal surface of a film substrate. The pressure sensitive adhesive layer is formed of a photocurable composition containing a photocurable agent and a base polymer having a crosslinked structure. The gel fraction of the photocurable composition is preferably 60% or more. The shear storage elastic modulus at 25 C. of the pressure sensitive adhesive layer is preferably 110.sup.4 to 1.210.sup.5 Pa. The shear storage elastic modulus at 25 C. of the pressure sensitive adhesive layer after photocuring is preferably 1.510.sup.5 to 210.sup.6 Pa.

Provided is a PSA composition with greatly reduced dependence on fossil-resource-based materials while comprising an acrylic PSA. The PSA composition provided includes a PSA. The PSA is an acrylic PSA including an acrylic polymer. The acrylic polymer is formed from monomers including more than 50% (by weight) acrylic monomer. At least 50% of all carbons in the PSA are biomass-based carbons.
