MEDICAL SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH STAND ASSISTANCE
A chair includes a control system for moving the chair between seated and standing configurations to thereby help facility an occupant's egress out of, or ingress into, the chair. One or more controls are provided on the chair that enable the occupant to control the timing of when the chair's movement between the configurations starts, what speed the chair moves at, and when the chair stops. A caregiver control panel provides the caregiver with multiple options for dictating what aspects of the chair's movement between the configurations the occupant is able to control. In some embodiments, a controller dynamically adjusts the speed of the chair based on shifts in the occupant's weight during the transition between the standing and seated configurations, as detected by one or more force sensors. The force sensors may be integrated into the armrests, the seat, the backrest, a combination of these, or elsewhere.
Backrest, method for adjusting a backrest and (wheel) chair provided with a backrest
The invention relates to a backrest for supporting the back of a seated person, the backrest comprising mounting means for mounting the backrest on a frame of a seating device; comprising: —a first back part for supporting at least a part of the back of the person at a determined angle, which first back part has a stiffness such that during use the part of the back shapes itself substantially to the first back part, and wherein the backrest comprises adjusting means for adjusting the angle and/or the position of the first back part relative to the frame; and —a second back part which has a flexibility such that during use the second back part shapes itself substantially continuously to another part of the back of the person. The invention further relates to a method for adjusting such a backrest and a (wheel) chair provided with such a backrest.

Chair
A chair includes a frame unit including a seat frame, a leg rest that is pivotally mounted to the seat frame, and a rest adjusting mechanism that is connected between the leg rest and the seat frame. The rest adjusting mechanism is convertible between an unlocked state, where the leg rest is permitted to pivot relative to the seat frame, and a locked state, where the leg rest is not permitted to pivot relative to the seat frame.
Reciprocating rollator
A rollator having a first side frame and a second side frame; the first side frame comprising a first side frame intervening structural portion; the second rolling side frame comprising a second side frame intervening structural portion; a central platform having a first platform side and a second platform side; and first and second track mechanisms respectively coupling the first and second side portions to the first and second platform sides of the central platform; the first and second track mechanisms permitting independent movement of said first and second side frames relative to said central platform.
WHEELCHAIR BRAKE SYSTEM
A wheelchair brake system comprises: a brake which is provided in a wheel of a wheelchair; and a brake actuation controller which connects with the brake and locks and releases the brake, wherein the brake is usually in a lock mode, but the brake actuation controller controls the brake to be switched over from the lock mode to a release mode if sensing that a user sits down on the wheelchair or the wheelchair is folded up.
WHEELCHAIR SELECTIVELY ENGAGEABLE WITH HOVERBOARD
A transportation device having a chassis which includes seat and back portions for an occupant, a drive frame portion, and an engagement frame portion. The drive frame portion includes a drive system, and is able to selectively the engagement frame portion. The hoverboard is able to selectively engage the engagement frame portion and electronically communicates with the drive system to bypass a gyroscope of the hoverboard. The chassis, including the drive frame portion, is able to selectively disengage with the engagement frame portion, while it is engaged to the hoverboard, for easier transportation.
Backrest fixation system and an electrically powered wheelchair comprising the same
A backrest fixation system (1) for a wheelchair, wherein the backrest fixation system (1) comprises a seat frame member (3) having a groove side (3a) provided with a first groove (5) having first groove retaining surfaces, which seat frame member (3) has a first lateral side (3b) and a second lateral side (3c) parallel to each other and which define lateral sides of the groove side (3a), a first groove insert member (9) arranged in the first groove (5) and retained in the first groove (5) by means of the first groove retaining surfaces, a backrest attachment member (15) having a first backrest attachment member through-opening (15a), a first fastener (17), and a reinforcement member (13) arranged between the backrest attachment member (15) and the groove side (3a) of the seat frame member (3), which reinforcement member (13) has a first leg (13a) and a second leg (13b), wherein the first leg (13a) extends along the first lateral side (3b) of the seat frame member (3) and the second leg (13b) extends along the second lateral side (3c) of the seat frame member (3), wherein the first groove insert member (9) is provided with a first groove insert member through-opening (9a) and the reinforcement member (13) is provided with a first reinforcement member through-opening (13d), and wherein the first fastener (17) extends through the first backrest attachment member through-opening (15a), the first reinforcement member through-opening (13d), and the first groove insert member through-opening (9a). An electrically powered wheelchair comprising a backrest fixation system is also presented herein.
