The invention is a grab rail built onto or attachable onto a wheelchair, having a cross rail reachably above the seated user and forward of the seated user's center of gravity which joins into side rails above the sides of the wheelchair, with support bars extending downward from the rear ends of the side bars to attach rigidly atop the wheelchair's back rest, the grab rail helping the user reposition or transfer independently. The grab rail does not obstruct or interfere with indoor use and can also support a canopy for sun and rain protection outdoors.

Multi-function adaptable lift system
A lift system has a back panel and a seat panel to provide a seat. The back panel is slidably mounted on a support column via slider so that the back panel can be moved up and down to adjust the seat height. The seat panel can be flipped back when the back panel is in an upright position. The back panel, together with the support column, can be oriented in a horizontal position and the seat panel can be adjusted similarly. With the support column, the lift system can be attached to a wheeled frame for mobility, but it can also be attached to a pole, a rotatable arm, a wall or a ceiling.

Embodiments herein are directed to a system that includes a powered wheelchair, a user-worn exoskeleton, and a master controller. The master controller monitors the independent movements of the powered wheelchair and the user-worn exoskeleton. The master controller prioritizes the movement of the powered wheelchair and the user-worn exoskeleton such that only one of the powered wheelchair or the user-worn exoskeleton will have the priority to complete the intended movement. The master controller may coordinate movements between the powered wheelchair and the user-worn exoskeleton so to perform a plurality of predetermined programs. For example, assisting a user to sit within the powered wheelchair, to assist a user to stand from a seating position when outside of the powered wheelchair, and/or use the powered wheelchair as a guide for walking.

The invention concerns a wheelchair for assisting walking. The wheelchair comprises a chassis, a movable base that can move relative to the chassis between a low seating position and a high walking position, and a device for changing the position of the base. The device for changing the position comprises at least a first arm and a linear actuator. The arm forms a third-class lever. The linear actuator is configured to bias the movable base towards the high position by means of the arm.
