Patient support systems and methods for docking, transporting, sterilizing, and storing patient support decks. The patient support system comprises patient support decks that are configured to carry patients, such as in emergency situations or in a healthcare facility. The patient support decks are adapted to be engaged by docking stations and transport devices. Different configurations of docking stations and transport devices are contemplated. Sterilization apparatuses are provided to sterilize the patient support decks after use and storage facilities store the patient support decks for later use once they are sterilized.

Person support apparatus

A person support apparatus with an extendable mattress, a night light message display system, a screen key pendant, egress handle siderails, and various other features. The extendable mattress includes hinged extensions along the sides of the extendable mattress that are moved from a nested position to the extension position. The screen key pendant includes a plurality of screen keys that can be pressed to cycle through various control modes for the person support apparatus. The night light message display system can be configured to display a message or image on the floor communicating information to the person and/or alerting the person as to when they are able to exit the bed.

Patient support apparatus with equipment weight log

A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, or the like, includes a litter frame, a support deck, a plurality of force sensors adapted to output signals corresponding to downward forces exerted on the support deck, and a controller configured carrying out various functions and to display various screens on a touchscreen or display, including a scale home screen and a scale equipment screen. A patient's current weight can be displayed on the scale home screen and the weight of equipment supported on the apparatus can be displayed on the scale home screen and the scale equipment screen. When a patient's current weight is characterized as possibly including non-patient weight, the controller can display a warning screen.

LINEAR ACTUATOR
20170331350 · 2017-11-16 · ·

Linear actuator, where a reversible electric motor (20) through a transmission (21) drives a non-self-locking spindle (22), by means of which an adjustment element (24) secured against rotation can be moved axially for adjusting an element connected thereto such as a backrest section in a bed. The actuator further comprises a quick release (27) for disengagement of the adjustment element (24) from the electric motor (20) and the part of the transmission (21) extending from the electric motor (20) to the quick release (27), such that the spindle (22) is rotated under the load on the adjustment element (24). Further, the actuator comprises brake means for controlling the speed of the adjustment element (24), when the quick release (27) is activated. The brake means are constituted by a rotary damper (45) of the fluid type comprising an internal body located in a liquid-filled hollow in an outer body, where one body is in driving connection with the spindle (22) or the part of the transmission extending from the spindle (22) to the quick release (27), and where a dampening effect, which dampens the speed of the spindle (22) and thus the adjustment element (24), is generated when this body is rotated relative to the other body as a result of activation of the quick release (27). It is thus possible to provide a construction where the lowering speed is self-controlling when the quick release is activated.

X-RAY CT APPARATUS

An X-ray computed-tomography (CT) apparatus according to an embodiment includes an X-ray tube, a detector, a table top, and processing circuitry. The X-ray tube generates an X-ray. The detector detects the X-ray. On the table top, a subject is placed. The processing circuitry controls a moving mechanism to move the table top in a longitudinal direction. The processing circuitry displays information indicating magnitude of a vibration that occurs, when each position in the longitudinal direction on the table top is moved to a position intersecting a path of the X-ray, at the position.

System for managing patient support apparatuses and patient fall risks

A caregiver assistance system is disclosed for assisting a caregiver to ensure the beds of high fall risk patients are in desired states for reducing the likelihood of a patient falling. The system may also help the caregiver to perform rounding tasks. The system comprises a server in communication with the patients' beds and one or more mobile electronic devices (e.g. smart phones). The mobile devices receive answers to a plurality of fall risk questions and forward them to the server. The server generates a patient fall risk assessment from the answers, determines a desired state for fall-risk components of the bed if the patient fall risk assessment indicates the patient has a high risk of falling, compares the states of the fall-risk components to corresponding desired states, and issues an alert at the mobile device if any of the fall-risk components are not in their desired state.

A bed device includes: an operation section that receives an operation input; a controller that controls a movement of the bed in accordance with the operation input; a detector that detects a position of a patient on the bed; and, a limitation table that stores a limitation area set on the bed in association with a limitation content, wherein when the position of the patient detected by the detector is included in the limitation area, the limitation content is read out from the limitation table so as to control the controller in accordance with the limitation content. With this configuration, it is possible to provide a higher safety bed device which can not only notify the danger based on the bed movement but also limit the movement of the bed in accordance with the status of the patient or the bed device.
