PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS HAVING PATIENT SUPPORT DECK AND GAP COVERING DECK SECTION
A patient support apparatus includes a support frame and a patient support deck operatively attached to the support frame. The patient support deck includes an adjacent pair of deck sections with a first one of the deck sections moveable between an initial configuration and a raised configuration. A gap covering deck section is slidingly engaged to a top surface of the first or second one of the adjacent deck sections and is pivotably coupled to either the other one of the deck sections or to the support frame, with the gap covering deck section configured to slide along the top surface in response to the movement of the first one of the deck sections so as to be at least partially disposed over a gap between the adjacent deck sections when the first one of the deck sections is in the raised configuration.

WEIGHT SCALES SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A weight scale system is for measuring the weight of an object, which includes a bed section, a vertical separator actuator and a controller. The bed section includes a lower-platform, an upper-platform and weight sensor assemblies located on the lower-platform, each includes at least one weight sensor. The bed section further includes at least one vertical-separator. The vertical-separator actuator is coupled with the vertical-separator and with the controller. The controller is coupled with the weight sensors. The controller directs the vertical-separator actuator to operate the bed section in at least two modes, a referencing mode in which the vertical-separator detaches the upper-platform from the weight sensor assemblies, thereby enabling referencing the weight sensors, and a weighing mode, in which the vertical separator re-attaches the upper-platform with the weight sensor assemblies, such that the weight associated with the upper-platform is fully applied on the weight sensors.

PERSON SUPPORT SURFACES INCLUDING SET BY PREVIEW FUNCTION FOR CONTINUOUS LATERAL ROTATION THERAPY
A person support apparatus including a person support surface including an actuating device and a controller configured to operate the actuating device to perform a set by preview subroutine and a rotation preview subroutine, wherein, during the set by preview subroutine, the controller receives user input positioning the actuating device into a first preview position and sets the first preview position as a first evaluation position, and wherein, during the set by preview subroutine, the controller receives user input positioning the actuating device into a second preview position and sets the second preview position as a second evaluation position. In embodiments, the controller is configured to simultaneously perform a P&V subroutine during rotation of the person support surface.
PERSON SUPPORT SYSTEMS AND METHODS INCLUDING A PRONING MODE
Medical beds and methods include a processor, an input interface configured to receive commands, and a display device configured to display an output. The medical bed further includes a memory storing program instructions, the program instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to place the medical bed in a restricted mode based upon satisfying a plurality of criteria. The medical bed outputs an indication of the restricted mode on the display device. The medical bed receives first and second movement commands through the input interface, wherein the movement commands are configured to move the medical bed. The medical bed moves based upon a first movement command permitted by the restricted mode. The medical bed maintains a current state of the medical bed upon receipt of a second movement command blocked by the restricted mode, wherein the second movement command differs from the first movement command.
PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH AUTOMATIC EXIT DETECTION MODES OF OPERATION
A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, etc., for supporting a patient includes an exit detection system with multiple user-selectable modes of operation that each have different sensitivity levels for triggering an exit alert. The exit detection system also includes one or more non-user selectable modes of operation that are automatically implemented in response to a triggering action. For example, a transition mode may be automatically implemented when the user attempts to switch from a first user-selectable mode to a different user selectable mode, or a motion mode may be automatically implemented when movement of one or more components of the patient support apparatus occurs. In the transition mode, the exit detection system may use a least restrictive sensitivity level. In the motion mode, the exit detection system may inhibit exit alerts and/or change the criteria for issuing the exit alert.
Patient support apparatus adaptable to multiple modes of transport
A patient support apparatus that is adaptable to multiple modes of transport includes a variable length base and a drive system that includes two independently drivable wheels that are responsive to inputs from a user to steer the patient support apparatus.

Patient Support Apparatus For Sensing And Responding To An Emergency Event
A patient support apparatus is provided for sensing and responding to an emergency event. The patient support apparatus includes a plurality of actuators to lift and lower a patient relative to a floor surface and to articulate one or more deck sections. An activator is coupled to the support structure to be actuated by a user to signal the emergency event. A plurality of electronic motion locks can be configured to a locked or unlocked state. In the locked state, a controller prevents operation of one or more of the actuators. The controller is configured to automatically reset the motion locks to their unlocked states in response to detecting the emergency event.
