METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING FIBERS

A process and an installation for producing a yarn in accordance with an airjet-spinning method. A carded fibre sliver is subjected to more than three-fold drawing without levelling at a carding machine and deposited in a can (C). At least nine fibre slivers are fed draftfree from cans (C) to a draw frame and subjected to at least 8.5-fold drawing to form a fibre sliver and deposited in a can (C1). The fibre sliver in the cans (C1) is then fed to a spinning station of an airjet-spinning machine.

A process and an installation for producing a yarn in accordance with an airjet-spinning method. Each work station further includes additional driven work elements for production and winding of a yarn, the additional work elements including at least a feed device, a spinning chamber, and a winding device. A suction device generates negative pressure at the work stations and includes at least one negative pressure source and at least two negative pressure channels. Each of the negative pressure channels extends in a longitudinal direction of the spinning machine only over one part of the work stations.

The spinning device having the spinning cone and the envelope wall for forming a capacitor unit to have electrodes arranged opposite one another with the envelope gap interposed and forming an electrode pair. A method for monitoring the spinning operation on the spinning device is also provided.

The invention relates to a cleaning device for a yarn forming element of an air-spinning nozzle, to a spinning position of an air-spinning machine and to a method for cleaning a yarn forming element of this type. In order to provide a spinning position of an air-spinning machine and a method for cleaning a yarn forming element of an air-spinning machine which allow long and trouble-free operation with constant quality and strength of the yarn produced, it is provided that the cleaning device has a cleaning strip and a storage unit for providing and retracting the cleaning strip, a fixed end of the cleaning strip being fastened to the storage unit, and a free end of the cleaning strip being able to be provided for cleaning and retracted again after the cleaning. Furthermore, the cleaning device has a cleaning strip guide for feeding the free end of the cleaning strip to the yarn forming element of the air-spinning nozzle for mechanical cleaning.
