Patient support apparatus for controlling patient ingress and egress
A patient support apparatus comprising a base movable about a floor surface and a deck comprising sections movable between deck configurations including an egress deck configuration. An articulation system coupled to the deck moves the sections. A lift mechanism moves the deck relative to the base between lift configurations including an egress lift configuration. An egress input is arranged for actuation by a user. A bed detection system monitors data associated with the patient support apparatus and communicates with a remote station. A controller interrupts communication of the bed detection system with the remote station, drives the articulation system to move the sections to the egress deck configuration, and drives the lift mechanism to move the support frame to the egress lift configuration in response to actuation of the egress input.
PATIENT SUPPORT WITH IMPROVED CONTROL
A patient support apparatus includes a deck to support a mattress and a patient on the mattress, the deck including a head deck section articulatable about an axis to change an angle of the head deck section, and a control system in communication with a user interface, with the control system configured to adjust the angle of the head deck section and to adjust the height of the deck in response to input at the user interface. The control system is in communication with a display and generates a GUI (graphical user interface) at the display to display a deck icon representative of the deck and a height icon representative of the height. The control system monitors the angle of the deck section and the height of the deck and adjusts the deck and height icons to schematically illustrate the adjustments made to the height of the deck and the angle of the head deck section to provide visual feedback to a user of the changes in height of the deck and/or angle of the head deck section in response to the user's input at the user interface.
BED SYSTEM
A bed system includes: an imaging device; a bed on which the imaging device is to be installed; and a controller configured to process an image acquired by the imaging device to predict a possibility of overturning of a user, in which, when it is determined that a state of the user is a first state, the controller predicts the possibility of overturning of the user based on a first parameter, when it is determined that the state of the user is a second state, the controller predicts the possibility of overturning of the user based on a second parameter, the first state is a state of the user different from the second state, and the first parameter is different from the second parameter.
PATIENT SUPPORT WITH IMPROVED CONTROL
A patient support apparatus includes a patient support surface, a plurality of caster wheels supporting the patient support surface on a floor or ground surface, a brake for manually braking at least one caster wheel of the plurality of caster wheels, and a handle or pedal for manually operating the brake, with the handle or pedal at least having a brake position. The patient support apparatus also includes an electrical actuator configured to couple to the brake and to selectively output a driving force and a user interface in communication with the electrical actuator. In response to input at the user interface, the electrical actuator generating the driving force to actuate the brake to thereby brake the at least one caster wheel, and wherein the driving force of the actuator moves the handle or pedal to the brake positon when the actuator actuates the manually operable brake to brake the caster wheel.
ARTICULATING BED CONVERTIBLE TO ASSIST CHAIR
An articulating bed includes an outer support frame, an inner convertible frame coupled to and supported within the outer support frame, and a mattress platform mounted above the inner convertible frame and configured to support a mattress thereon. The mattress platform has a body platform and a leg platform. The articulating bed also includes a support plate secured to the inner convertible frame, a body lifting device secured to the support plate and to the body platform configured to raise and lower the body platform, and a leg lifting device secured to the support plate and to the leg platform configured to raise and lower the leg platform. The support plate is configured to spin the mattress platform over the outer support frame when the body platform and the leg platform are raised and the mattress platform is converted into an assist chair.
Adjustable Patient Support Apparatus For Assisted Egress And Ingress
An adjustable patient support apparatus comprises a base, a support frame, and a patient support deck. The patient support deck comprises articulating deck sections, such as a leg section, seat section, and a back section pivotally coupled together. One or more actuators may be configured to move the leg and/or back section between a lowered position and one or more raised positions. The seat section may include one or more articulating seats to assist with ingress and egress from the patient support apparatus. The one or more seats may be articulated manually or electrically via a lever or actuator.
PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH AUTOMATIC EXIT DETECTION MODES OF OPERATION
A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, etc., for supporting a patient includes an exit detection system with multiple user-selectable modes of operation that each have different sensitivity levels for triggering an exit alert. The exit detection system also includes one or more non-user selectable modes of operation that are automatically implemented in response to a triggering action. For example, a transition mode may be automatically implemented when the user attempts to switch from a first user-selectable mode to a different user selectable mode, or a motion mode may be automatically implemented when movement of one or more components of the patient support apparatus occurs. In the transition mode, the exit detection system may use a least restrictive sensitivity level. In the motion mode, the exit detection system may inhibit exit alerts and/or change the criteria for issuing the exit alert.
AUTOMATED ADJUSTMENTS FOR PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS
An automated system and methods are provided for coordinating a transfer of a patient between patient support apparatuses. The method can include establishing communication between a transferring patient support apparatus and a receiving patient support apparatus. The method can further include adjusting a position of at least one of the receiving patient support apparatus and the transferring patient support apparatus. The method can include locating and aligning the receiving patient support apparatus adjacent the transferring patient support apparatus.
Patient positioning device
A patient positioning device including a pivot rod configured with a first portion extending in a first direction, and a second portion extending in a second direction substantially laterally from a top end of the first portion, a clamp portion configured to be coupled to a portion of a medical bed, and having a receiving portion configured to receive and clamp the first portion of the pivot rod in place such that the pivot rod is adjustable along and about an axis of the first direction when not clamped, and a swivel plate coupled to a distal end of the second portion of the pivot rod and configured such that the swivel plate is rotatable about another axis offset from, and substantially parallel to, the axis of the first direction, wherein the swivel plate is configured to provide support to maintain a patient in a desired position.
