ELASTIC CORE YARNS BASED ON LINEN, OR HEMP, OR OTHER MATERIALS, AND ELASTICIZED FABRICS THEREFROM
A method is provided for manufacturing an elastic core yarn (50) in which a core (30) comprises an elastic fibre (10) and a continuous yarn (20) arranged along elastic fibre (10), and in which a covering yarn (40) of such a natural material as flax, hemp, rami, bamboo, jute, is helically wrapped about the core (30). A step of helically wrapping the core (30) with the covering yarn (40) is carried out in such a way that a number T of coils covering yarn (40) is formed about a length unit of the elastic fibre (10) larger than a predetermined minimum value depending on the linear mass density Nm of covering yarn (40), and that the covering yarn (40) becomes twisted with a final twist direction S or Z that is opposite to an initial twist direction Z or S, respectively, the step of wrapping occurring in a wrapping space (35) enclosed within a container (67).
Apparatus and method for imparting false twist to a yarn
An apparatus for imparting false twist to a staple yarn comprising a yarn guide for guiding a staple yarn along a path and a false twist device comprising a convex surface for engagement with a staple yarn so as to impart a force to the staple yarn when the staple yarn engages with and traverses the convex surface of the false twist device, and wherein the relative positioning between the yarn guide and the convex surface of the false twist device is adjustable such that, when a staple yarn is engaged with the convex surface of the false twist device and extends between the yarn guide and the false twist device, the amount of contact between the staple yarn and the convex surface of the false twist device can be controlled.
FRICTION DISC FOR A FALSE-TWIST DEVICE
Friction disc for a false-twist device, comprising an annular hub, on which it is possible to fix a circular race formed by a polyurethane (PU) layer and has a minimum wall thickness required for a secure interlocking fit, the hub having a circumferential support ring and a central hole, by which the friction disc is fixed on one of the shafts of the false-twist device. To ensure better dimensional and form stability over a long service life of the friction disc, the formed race fixed on the hub is ground according to a predefinable profile such that the flanks of the race have a predefinable width dimension following the grinding process, and/or in that the hub has, at a spacing from the support ring, a circumferential shoulder for abutment for the fixable PU layer, a cross-sectional width of the shoulder being smaller than a cross-sectional width of the support ring.
Sheath and core yarn for thermoplastic composite
A yarn containing a core of continuous filaments of an inorganic material and a sheath of staple fibers of a thermoplastic polymer is provided. The yarn can be formed into a fabric or unidirectional tape, which can then be heated under pressure to form a composite material that has excellent mechanical strength yet is lightweight. The fabric can be molded into a composite material having a two-dimensional or three-dimensional shape because of its excellent drapability. The composite material can be used in aircraft parts, automotive parts, marine parts, consumer electronic parts, and other products.
Proliferated thread count of a woven textile by simultaneous insertion within a single pick insertion event of a loom apparatus multiple adjacent parallel yarns drawn from a multi-pick yarn package
A method includes drawing each of multiple partially oriented yarns from a corresponding supply package to form an oriented yarn, twisting and detwisting filaments within the oriented yarn to provide texture thereto, to provide a low stability interlacing during weaving, and to intermingle the filaments comprising the oriented yarn, and applying a uniform air pressure to the oriented yarn to provide a counter-twist. The method also includes forming a multi-pick yarn package based on winding all formed oriented yarns, which serve as weft yarns forming adjacent substantially parallel yarns wound together, onto a spool, simultaneously inserting the weft yarns in a single pick insertion event of a loom apparatus, conveying the weft yarns across a warp shed of the loom apparatus through a set of warp yarns, and interlacing the set of warp yarns and the conveyed weft yarns to produce an incremental length of a woven textile fabric.
Coiled actuator system and method
A system and method of generating a coiled actuator fiber. The method includes twisting a fiber to generate a twisted fiber, wrapping the twisted fiber around a core to generate a coil in the twisted fiber; and removing at least a portion of the core to generate a coiled actuator fiber. In some aspects that fiber can be a yarn with one or more fibers or a fiber comprising a single elongated element. In some aspects, a portion of the core includes a removable sacrificial portion. The removable sacrificial portion can be dissolvable in a solvent or physically removable. In some aspects, the core further includes a non-dissolvable portion that is not dissolvable and generating a coiled actuator can include removing the sacrificial portion by treating a twisted fiber on the core to remove the sacrificial portion and leaving the non-dissolvable portion.
Filaments having changeable shape for a toy or accessory
Hair for a doll, toy or a wearable item is reversibly stylable. The hair can change between straight and curly hair by subjecting the hair to a change of temperature. This temperature change can be by the application of heat, coolness or cold. In one form, then, straighten of curved doll hair filaments is through hot air or hot water. (38-40 degrees). A doll figure can include auto fitting smart hair filaments for practicing the method. Pulling straight doll hair turns the hair to curly. Straightening is affected through heat. The doll has hair filaments which are formed by shape memory plastic material.

Method for preparing simulated lawn
A method for preparing a simulated lawn is provided, which comprises wiredrawing, coiling, weaving and post-processing raw materials, to obtain a simulated lawn product, wherein the weaving is straight yarn-curled yarn-interlacing weaving, in which one line of curled yarn is weaved between two adjacent straight yarns, and spacing between adjacent straight yarns is to inches and knitting needle number is 150 to 350 needles/meter.
Method for manufacturing a multi-ply separable filament yarns and multi-ply separable textured yarn
A method of manufacturing multi-ply separable textured yarn, the method comprising, passing a multi-ply separable interlaced filament yarn through a texturizing unit to form a multi-ply separable draw textured yarn, wherein the multi-ply separable interlaced filament yarn is separable in to at least two separable interlaced filament yarn, wherein the interlacing of the filaments within each separable interlaced filament yarn is retained during further processing of the yarn to fabric and in the fabric.
