DEVICE FOR ENTANGLING A PLURALITY OF INDIVIDUAL THREADS OF A COMPOSITE THREAD

Various techniques involve a device for entangling a plurality of individual threads of a composite thread in a melt-spinning process for the production of crimped yarns. The device to this end has a plurality of entanglement nozzles which are collectively held on a support. In order to enable a flexible utilization of the entanglement nozzles and of thread guiding, the entanglement nozzles on the support are assigned at least one thread guide in such a manner that the threads are guidable optionally in the entanglement nozzles and/or in the thread guide.

Geosynthetic fabric with differential wicking capability

The present invention is directed to a geotextile fabric including a plurality of wicking yarns each having a plurality of fibers with inter-fiber voids therebetween; wherein the inter-fiber voids of the plurality of wicking yarns has a water flow of about 0.05 milliliters per day per denier (ml/day/denier) to about 1.0 milliliters per day per denier. Further, the present invention is directed to a method of making such geotextile fabric.

Method of and apparatus for manufacturing bloomed fiber material

A bloomed fiber material (bloomed tow) is manufactured through a process including: spreading a crimped tow in its width direction by a preliminary blooming device; performing primary blooming to bloom the tow by a primary blooming device; dividing the tow into at least two divided tows by a dividing device; cutting a parting between the divided tows by a cutting device; and performing secondary blooming to bloom the divided tows by a secondary blooming device.

A device for texturizing strand material into a wool-type product includes outer and inner nozzle sections. The outer and inner nozzle sections interface and define a passage through which the strand material travels. A locking device in the inner nozzle section is operable to selectively stop movement of the strand material. The locking device includes a seal holder that positions a sealing member within the inner nozzle section to prevent debris from entering the inner nozzle section, thereby promoting continued effective operation of the locking device. The outer nozzle section includes an end nozzle assembly including a hardened outlet tube. The hardened outlet tube is distinct from the outer nozzle section and, thus, can be repaired or replaced independently of the outer nozzle section.

Systems for producing M bundles of filaments, wherein M?1, include N extruders, M spin stations, and a processor, wherein N>1. Each extruder includes a thermoplastic polymer having a color, hue, and/or dyability characteristic, which are different from each other. Each spin station produces N bundles of filaments that form a yarn. Each spin station comprises N spinnerets through which filaments are spun from molten polymers streams received by the respective spin station and N spin pumps upstream of the N spinnerets for the respective spin station. Each spin pump is paired with one of the N extruders. The processor is in electrical communication with the N*M spin pumps and is configured to adjust the volumetric flow rate of the polymers pumped from each spin pump to achieve a ratio of the polymers to be included in the yarn from each spin station.

A method includes drawing a roving thread from a roving bobbin through a roving guide, an aft drafting roller, and a mid drafting roller to a front drafting roller, and drawing a spandex core from a spandex bobbin using a guide roller. The method also includes associating the roving thread and the spandex core by drawing the roving thread and the spandex core in an approximately parallel fashion through the front drafting roller, and drawing the associated roving thread and the spandex core through a lappet hook and an anti-ballooning guide. Further, the method includes winding the drawn associated roving thread and the spandex core on a ring-frame bobbin including a ring traveler attached to a rotatable ring. The circular motion of the ring traveler around the ring-frame bobbin causes the drawn associated roving thread to twist around the drawn associated spandex core, forming a core spun yarn.
