The seat member is attached to the support frame and is foldable or extendable. The support member is attached to the support frame. The support member is configured to support an upper body of the care-receiver from front. The at least one caster is provided below the support frame. The handle member is attached to the support member. The handle member is movable in a front-back direction of the support frame and is configured to be grasped by a caregiver during a transfer.
Person support apparatus with spring assistance for articulation
A spring assist system for use with a person support apparatus is described herein. The spring assist system comprises a spring which applies a spring force on a head support deck section to aid in motion from a first position at a higher inclination to a second position at a lower inclination with respect to a supporting frame member. The spring assist system is configured to exclusively apply spring force between the first position and the second position.
Structure
According to an embodiment, a structure is detachably attached to a bed apparatus. The bed apparatus includes a holder and a first frame that includes a portion extending in a first direction. The structure includes: a first portion of a columnar shape extending in a second direction that intersects the first direction; and a second portion continuous to the first portion and including a portion extending in a third direction that intersects the second direction. The first portion is inserted in the holder so that the holder holds the structure. When the structure is attached to the bed apparatus, an angle between the first direction and the third direction is variable. The structure that can facilitate aid of bed departure can be provided.

Person support apparatus
A person support apparatus with an extendable mattress, a night light message display system, a screen key pendant, egress handle siderails, and various other features. The extendable mattress includes hinged extensions along the sides of the extendable mattress that are moved from a nested position to the extension position. The screen key pendant includes a plurality of screen keys that can be pressed to cycle through various control modes for the person support apparatus. The night light message display system can be configured to display a message or image on the floor communicating information to the person and/or alerting the person as to when they are able to exit the bed.
BED SYSTEM AND RELATED METHOD
A bed system and related method is disclosed, the bed system comprising a bed frame and a mattress assembly pivotably mounted on the bed frame for pivoting the mattress assembly about a pivot axis to form a pivot angle between the mattress assembly and a longitudinal axis of the bed frame, the mattress assembly comprising aback part, a seat part and a leg part, wherein aback normal of the back part and the pivot axis forms a back angle, a seat normal of the seat part and the pivot axis forms a seat angle, and a leg normal of the leg part and the pivot axis forms a leg angle, the bed system comprising a controller device, wherein the controller device is configured to: move the mattress assembly from a first position to a second position, wherein, in the second position, the pivot angle is a second pivot angle in a range from 30 degrees to 80 degrees, and wherein the leg angle is a second leg angle larger than 45 degrees.
SUPPORT FRAME
A support structure device is configured to assist a human patient to rise. The support structure includes a tube bent into a shape described by way of a reference frustum such as a four-sided truncated pyramid. Each side of a top rectangular perimeter of the frustum is shorter than a corresponding side of the bottom rectangular perimeter, and each parallel side of a first trapezoidal perimeter of the frustum is shorter than a corresponding parallel side of a second trapezoidal perimeter. The reference frustum has a height between 10 and 18 inches, the top rectangular perimeter has a length between 10 and 16 inches and a width between 6 and 14 inches, and the bottom rectangular perimeter has a length between 12 and 18 inches and a width between 8 and 16 inches.
