METHOD OF MAKING A NONWOVEN WEB

Soft point bonded nonwoven webs, and methods of making the same, are described that utilize a pattern of small, discrete bond points in a sequent pattern that together form macro-elements. The macro-elements are themselves positioned and aligned within a pattern such that mechanical stretching operations on the point bonded nonwoven webs yields soft and bulky fabrics but with reduced incidence of tearing or rupturing of the individual bond points.

Method for preparing thermal-moisture comfortable polyester FDY

A thermal-moisture comfortable polyester FDY for summer use and a preparation method thereof are provided. The FDY is made of matting agents dispersed polyester via the steps of spinning melt metering, extruding via the compositional spinneret, cooling, oiling, drawing, heat setting and winding. The woven fabrics manufactured with the FDY possess a wicking height and an evaporation rate of larger than or equal to 135 mm and 0.22 g/h, respectively. The compositional spinneret is simultaneously provided with cruciform orifices and circular orifices, and the length ratio of cruciform orifice to circular orifice is equal to the product of their equivalent diameter ratio and a coefficient K, here equivalent diameter is the ratio of orifice cross-section area to its circumference and K ranges from 0.97 to 1.03, and the oiling involves the oiling agent containing 67.30-85.58 wt % of crown ether.

ARTIFICIAL TURF WITH MARBLED MONOFILAMENT

A method of manufacturing artificial turf creating a liquid polymer mixture, wherein the polymer mixture is at least a two-phase system. A first one of the phases includes a first polymer and a first dye, and a second one of the phases of the polymer mixture includes a second polymer and a second dye of a different color than the first dye. The first and the second phase are immiscible, the first phase forming polymer beads within the second phase. The method further includes extruding the polymer mixture into a monofilament including a marbled pattern of the first and second color; quenching the monofilament; reheating the monofilament; stretching the reheated monofilament to deform the polymer beads into threadlike regions and to form the monofilament into an artificial turf fiber; and incorporating the artificial turf fiber into an artificial turf backing.

Manufacturing method for transparent fiber

A manufacturing method for a transparent fiber is provided. The method includes forming a spinning solution containing a polyimide polymer in an organic solvent. The polydispersity index (PDI) of the polyimide polymer is 1.3˜2.6. The spinning solution is used to perform a dry-jet wet spinning step to form a plurality of fibers. Furthermore, the plurality of fibers are subjected to a thermal drawing step to form a plurality of transparent fibers, wherein the temperature of the thermal drawing step is controlled from 215° C. to 350° C. The manufacturing method for a transparent fiber provided in the present invention makes use of a polyimide polymer material and utilizes a dry-jet wet spinning step and a thermal drawing step, which allows the formation of a transparent and high strength polyimide fiber.

A method for feeding a thread at a preset drawing to a textile machine includes a first feeder which sends the thread to the textile machine and a second feeder arranged spaced from the first feeder and which sends such thread to the latter, each feeder having a rotary member on which there is partly wound the thread before the feeding thereof and a speed sensor adapted to detect the rotational speed of such rotary member and a tension sensor to detect the tension of the thread exiting from each feeder. Controlling drawing the thread sent to the textile machine by controlling and adjusting the ratio between the rotational speed of the rotary member of the first feeder and the rotational speed of the rotary member of the second feeder.

Polysulfone membrane having high selectivity

A spin dope composition produces a polymeric fiber useful in non-cryogenic gas separation. The composition includes polysulfone as the polymeric component, two solvents, in which the polymer is soluble, and a non-solvent, in which the polymer is insoluble. The solvents preferably include N-methyl-pyrrolidone (NMP) and N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAC), and the non-solvent preferably includes triethylene glycol (TEG). Fibers made from the present composition have been found to exhibit superior properties of gas flux and selectivity, as compared with fibers made from spin dopes having only one solvent component.
