APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING A PATIENT
A patient positioning system includes an inflatable patient support device having a width, and a positioning apparatus. The positioning apparatus including a wedge-shaped body, the wedge-shaped body configured to be placed under the inflatable patient support device to support a patient in a desired position, and a tail comprising an elongated piece of material extending from a front end of the wedge-shaped body, wherein a length of the tail is greater than the width of the inflatable patient support device.
Wheelchair harness
Embodiments described herein are directed to posture assistance devices that may include a motor coupled to a frame, where the frame attaches to a wheelchair. In some cases, the devices include a shaft coupled to the motor, where the motor is configured to rotate the shaft. The devices can also include an extension arm attached to the frame, where the extension arm includes a redirection surface. The extension arm can be selectively adjustable to change the distance between the redirection surface and the shaft. The devices can also include a connection line coupled to the shaft and configured to engage with the redirection surface, such that rotation of the shaft changes a length a fed-out portion of the connection line. The connection line can also include an attachment mechanism that couples the connection line to a user.
MOTORIZED CHAIR
A motorized chair is provided. The chair comprises a seat, a back, a hoist comprising at least a mast, a winch, and a sling, and at least one actuator, that based on receipt of a first instruction to activate the hoist, raises the seat and back and extends the mast over the raised seat and back. Based on receipt of a second instruction, the at least one actuator instructs the winch to raise the sling. An individual seated in the chair, based on actuator receipt of the first instruction, is raised to an upright position. The sling comprises at least one member for attachment to the individual. Based on the attachment of the at least one member to the individual and based on receipt of the second instruction by the at least one actuator, the hoist lifts the individual.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR POWERED WHEELCHAIR PERSONAL TRANSFER
The invention includes methods and apparatuses for patient transfer from a rollable chair to a bed and back. A rollable chair includes a first frame having a seat; a second frame coupled to the first frame, the second frame having a backrest configured to move relative to the first frame; and a third frame coupled to the first frame, the third frame having a track having a curvilinear length configured to allow the first frame to rotate and to translate relative to the third frame. A bed includes a chair-receiving frame configured to couple to the first frame of the rollable chair. The rollable chair and the bed work in tandem to transfer a patient, for example using coordinated, automated motions.
DETECTION OF INCONTINENCE EVENTS
A patient monitoring system includes a computing device that having a processor and a memory, the memory comprising instructions that, when executed, cause the system to receive, from a thermographic camera, at least one image corresponding to a temperature of a region of interest and a surrounding area that surrounds the region of interest; use an artificial intelligence model to analyze the at least one image; detect a difference in temperature of the region of interest relative to the surrounding area; and issue an alert related to an incontinence event when the difference in temperature exceeds a threshold value.
TRANSFER SEAT PLATFORM
A transfer seat platform that helps transfer a handicapped person from a wheelchair into a vehicle. The transfer seat platform includes a stand portion having a top portion with a bottom portion, a pair of front legs, and an extended lip, the top portion includes a front end and a back end, the pair of front legs extend from the front end of the top portion of the stand portion and the extended lip extends from the bottom portion of the top portion, and a cushion is disposed and coupled directly on the top portion. The pair of front legs have an adjustable length via a locking assembly. The pair of front legs are placed on a ground surface and the extended lip is placed within a vehicle doorframe.
Patient lift and sling having wireless communication
A person lift system includes a motor and a sling bar coupled to the motor. The sling bar includes a first attachment hook at a first end region of the sling bar and a second attachment hook at a second end region of the sling bar. A sling includes a main body section and a plurality of loops coupled to the main body section. Each of the plurality of loops is configured to attach to one of the plurality of attachment hooks. A first electronic reader is coupled to the sling bar near the first attachment hook. A second electronic reader is coupled to the sling bar near the second attachment hook. Each of a plurality of short range wireless tags is coupled to a respective one of the plurality of loops.
Seat for a stair lift
A seat for a stair lift includes a horizontal seat, a vertical back rest, and two arm rests. Each arm rest is connected to the seat by a support bracket, and each arm rest is pivotable between folded-down and a folded-up positions. The arm rest is pivotably connected about a pivot axis to the support bracket and to a carrying beam having upper and lower sides. The upper side supports an arm of the sitting person. The arm rest is designed such that lower and upper tangents of the carrying beam extend at the same side of the pivot axis. The lower tangent is at a radial distance from the pivot axis, such that in the folded-up position the carrying beam extends from the vertical plane through the pivot axis in the vertical space behind the vertical plane towards and beyond the back side edge of the seat part.
PATIENT SUPPORT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEDICAL IMAGING
A patient support system includes a support beam that may translocate along an axial axis of a medical imaging system. At least a portion of the support beam may be disposed within a central bore of the medical imaging system. The patient support system also includes a patient support removably coupled to the support beam and including a backing that may support a patient during an imaging procedure and a restraint extending a longitudinal length of the backing. The restraint includes a first end coupled to the backing and a second end that may be removably coupled to the support beam, and the restraint may secure the patient support to the support beam and to restrain the patient within the patient support.
Force transfer apparatus for massage and therapeutic bodywork table
A force transfer apparatus for massage and bodywork tables. In one preferred embodiment the force transfer apparatus includes a height adjustable table, a height adjustable conveyor lift, and an accessory roller. The accessory roller is used to transfer the angle of the sheet upon the height adjustable table to accommodate the rotation of the patient's body. With this novel invention, physical manipulation of the patient's body position in relation to the table is achieved with little to no effort by the patient or the massage therapist. This allows for the patient to remain relaxed during the transitional phase of the massage session.
