SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PATIENT TURNING AND REPOSITIONING WITH SIMULTANEOUS OFF-LOADING OF THE BODY IN THE PRONE POSITION
The present invention relates to a system and method for sacral and trochanteric support and off-loading. The system provides a ultra low pressure plenum and a positioner. The patient body size and size and corresponding surface area of the positioner control the amount of gas which is displaced evenly against the walls of the ultra low pressure plenum to allow the combination of the ultra low pressure plenum and the positioner to slightly lift a patient from a bed surface, thereby offloading the sacrum and trochanter. The positioner can be an ultra low pressure bladder.
Wheelchair transfer handrail
The present invention provides a wheelchair transfer handrail for use in connection with a wheelchair and a door striker on a vehicle pillar. The invention includes a clamp assembly connected to the wheelchair, and a handrail tube extending from the clamp assembly to the door striker.
Emergency Patient Motion System
A modular drive device for driving a first driven module of a first emergency patient motion device or a second driven module of a second emergency patient motion device, the first driven module being different from the second driven module. The modular drive device comprises a motor, and an output device operatively coupled to and drivable by the motor. The output device transmits mechanical force from the motor to the first driven module when said output device is coupled to the first emergency patient motion device and from the motor to the second driven module when said output device is coupled to the second emergency patient motion device. The modular drive device further comprises a controller operable in a first motor mode and a second motor mode. The first motor mode corresponding to the first driven module, and the second motor mode corresponding to the second driven module.
Motorized Chair Assist Device
A motorized chair assist device is disclosed that helps caregivers transfer patients or users into their bed or into another chair. The motorized chair assist device comprises a base component with multiple wheels and a footrest component. Further, a seat component, a backrest component and a pair of armrest components are secured to the base component. The device can flatten out and raise the seat component upwards to match the level of the bed or exam table. Additionally, users can raise the seat component and slide it horizontally for transferring the patient to a level surface like a bed or exam table. Further, the armrest components can retract downwards, like a window for the seat component to slide across toward a table or bed. The multiple wheels provide for smooth movement over various terrain. The device also includes a remote control to control the device.
Secure equipment transfer system
A transfer device for a patient care apparatus includes: a first docking cup and a second docking cup, each of the first docking cup and the second docking cup aligned with a vertical axis, defining a conical surface aligned with the vertical axis, and sized to receive a receiver; a security mechanism enclosed within the transfer device; a support shaft disposed between the first docking cup and the second docking cup; and a shaft brake mechanism engageable with the support shaft, at least a portion of the shaft brake mechanism disposed below the support shaft and disposed between the first docking cup and the second docking cup.
Multifunctional mattress
A multifunctional mattress, equipped with N body support members, and provided with a left stretcher rod through-penetrating area and a right stretcher rod through-penetrating area along a direction of a long edge L respectively, the two stretcher rod through-penetrating areas are provided with a stretcher hole for penetrating a stretcher rod through, the stretcher hole is stretched along a direction parallel to the long edge L of the mattress body; the mattress body is provided with a plurality of airbag areas, strip-like gaps are arranged among the airbag areas, the strip-like gaps are arranged in parallel to each other in a direction mutually perpendicular to the long edge L of the mattress body; a width H of the strip-like gap is greater than or equal to a width h of the body support member, a thickness of the inflated airbag area is greater than that of the body support member. The multifunctional mattress is quick to operate, safe and less laborious, and portable and environmentally-friendly.
Amusement ride transfer accessibility device for the physically-disabled
An apparatus and method for assisting the transfer of a physically-disabled person into or out of an amusement ride. The apparatus and method involve a base portion having an elevated seat and an associated extension. The base portion is mobile and can be positioned adjacent the amusement ride. The extension is then positioned within the amusement ride to provide a smooth platform that permits the passenger to slide from the elevated seat, down the extension and into an open seat in the amusement ride. The process is reversed to permit the passenger egress from the amusement ride. The base portion also includes at least one wheel assembly and feet upon which the base portion rests during use. When it is necessary to move the base portion, it is simply tilted onto the wheel assembly off of the feet for quick and easy transport. The elevated seat and extension are covered with a comfortable material.
System and method for patient turning and repositioning
The present disclosure relates to a patient support which can be used in a bed or flat surface and in particular to a system and method for support and offloading of the body and for turning and repositioning of a patient in a bed or on a flat surface. Features of the disclosure also relate to markings and other indicators used on the patient support which help guide caregivers in the proper use and correct patient positioning on the patient support.
SITTING MOTION ASSIST SYSTEM, CONTROL METHOD FOR CONTROLLER OF SITTING MOTION ASSIST SYSTEM, RECORDING MEDIUM, CARE BELT, AND ROBOT
A sitting motion assist system for assisting a sitting motion of a patient changing their posture from a standing posture to a sitting posture includes a care belt, a knee-bending adviser, and a pulling mechanism. The care belt can be put on the patient and includes a hold mechanism including a first holder capable of holding the neck or shoulder of the patient and a second holder capable of holding their lower back, and a coupler capable of being positioned on their chest and coupled to the hold mechanism. The knee-bending adviser advises the patient to perform a knee-bending motion. The pulling mechanism is coupled to the hold mechanism via the coupler and pulls the care belt downward and slightly forward relative to the patient after the advice by the knee-bending adviser, and thereafter pushes the care belt downward and slightly backward to assist the sitting motion.
