Wheelchair Safety Device
A device that can be quickly and easily mounted on a wheelchair for assisting a wheelchair user to safely exit or enter a wheelchair that includes a support having a horizontal top rail, the top rail having a first end and a second end, a first leg depending downwardly from the first end, and a second leg arranged opposite and parallel to the first leg, the second leg depending downwardly from the second end. The device further includes a bracket attached to the wheelchair, the bracket is constructed to engage with a bottom of the first leg such that when the bracket and bottom of the first leg are engaged, the device may be used to enter or exit the wheelchair.
Toilet safety arm accessory device
A toilet safety arm accessory device comprises a frame that fits around a toilet and a pair of arms coupled thereto allows a user to apply a pulling force onto the device to allow the user to seat him or herself onto a toilet and/or to rise therefrom. The device, which the user grips in lowering and raising himself on and from the toilet. The device may be installed onto a toilet without the use of any tools or hardware and thus does not result in any damage, destruction, or other modification to or of the subject toilet. The toilet safety arm accessory device may also comprise elements of the device that may be added to existing toilet safety devices to allow a user to apply a pulling force and otherwise improve leverage needed to lower him or herself from a toilet and/or raise him or herself from a toilet.
Multi-function person handling equipment
A person handling apparatus includes a deck with a seat section, a leg section, and a back section. The back section is pivotally mounted to the seat section. The leg section has a proximal end pivotally mounted to the seat section and a cantilevered end spaced a first distance from its proximal end. The seat section, the leg section, and the back section are arranged to lie in a common plane when the deck is in a supine configuration to support a person in a supine position. First and second leg assemblies are pivotally mounted to the deck to move between (1) first deployed positions wherein the first and second leg assemblies are angled relative to the deck when the deck is in the supine configuration to support the deck in a raised composition and (2) second deployed positions when the deck is supported in the chair configuration.
Platform for Lifting an Individual from a Fallen Position
A platform for lifting an individual from a fallen position is designed to be slid beneath the body of a user and transitions between a collapsed and an extended configuration. The extended configuration raises the individual to a seated position. The platform for lifting an individual has a base platform, a lifting platform, a folding wedge, a set of collapsible supports, and a lift-control assembly. The folding wedge is hingedly connected in between the base platform and the lifting platform so that the folding wedge forms a ramp, while in the collapsed configuration, that is slid beneath the body of the downed individual. The collapsible supports are connected in between the base platform and the lifting platform. The lift-control assembly is mounted in between the base platform and the lifting platform and generates the force required to transition the platform for lifting an individual between the extended and collapsed configurations.
Caregiver lifting harness and use thereof
A lifting harness for assisting a worker to transfer a load is provided, the lifting harness comprising: a belt; a pair of lifting pads slidably mounted on the belt; a back including a pair of arms attached to the belt, the pair of arms converging towards a distal end; a loop proximate to the distal end; and a mobile lifting strap, the mobile lifting strap including a strap first distal end, a strap second distal end and a length therebetween, the length slidably extending through the loop; a first lifting loop proximate to the strap first distal end; and a second lifting loop proximate to the strap second distal end.
SUPPORT SURFACE SYSTEM
A cover system includes a base sheet, which is adapted to cover an underlying mattress, and a top sheet configured to wick away moisture and to cooperate with the base sheet to reduce shear on a patient supported on the cover system.
Rotational/translational transfer lift
A device positioned near a user provides support to the user in sitting and standing positions. The user can move from sitting to standing, without assistance, even if the user is relatively weakened. The device includes (1) a base and tower, and provides support to the user when in-between; (2) a personal support coupled to the tower, and operated by a user control, such as a wheel or a motor. The tower can include padding or knee support so the user can lean against the tower.
METHOD OF POSITIONING A PATIENT
The present disclosure provides a method of positioning a patient. The patient is provided on a support surface, an inflatable positioning mattress disposed between the patient and the support surface. Air flow into the inflatable positioning mattress is initiated to inflate the inflatable positioning mattress. A downward force is applied on the inflatable positioning mattress proximate to a first side of the support surface. A portion of the inflatable positioning mattress proximate to a second side of the support surface is raised. At least one wedge is positioned beneath the inflatable positioning mattress. Subsequently, the patient is lowered onto the at least one wedge.
Person transfer device
A transfer device is used to help a person move from one seated position at a first location to another seated position at a second location. The device is particularly useful for persons who cannot use their legs because the device is structurally supported to allow the person using the device to support himself by his arms and upper body muscles. The device is supported by the floor joists disposed below the floor. The person can have multiple support frames installed at different locations in his house so that the device can be moved from place to place as needed. Each location only requires a small hole to be cut in the floor with the unused holes being closed by plugs. The device allows the person to place his feet on a pivot disc while bracing his knees or shins against a knee board. The person then grasps handgrips and secures his forearms in an arm support assembly and lifts his lower body out of the first location. Another assistant rotates the device to align the person with the second seat wherein the person can lower himself into the second seat.
Portable light weight apparatus
An apparatus that allows a user with limited mobility to accomplish tasks such as repairs and inspections around and under the house, RV, boat or vehicle that are difficult for a user with mobility limitations to do without the apparatus, beginning with a first side that is adjustable of approximately 6 to 12 inches from a floor surface, a second side that is adjustable of approximately 12 to 18 inches from a floor surface, a third side that is adjustable of approximately 18 to 28 inches from a floor surface, and comprised of handrails on the surface of the apparatus, making it easy for a user to grip anywhere on the apparatus for easy gripping for the user to either raise themselves up from the floor or lower themselves to the floor, utilizing one of the apparatuses sides at a time, by turning the apparatus over to one of its multiple sides of varying length from the floor.
