Self-wrapping, braided textile sleeve with self-sustaining expanded and contracted states and method of construction thereof

A self-wrapping protective textile sleeve and method of construction is provided. The sleeve includes a braided, tubular wall having opposite free edges extending lengthwise between opposite ends. The wall has a first state with a decreased length, increased cross-sectional area and a second state with an increased length, decreased cross-sectional area, as viewed in cross-section taken generally transversely to a central longitudinal axis. The wall further includes braided, heat-set yarns imparting a bias on the wall, wherein the bias causes the wall to self-wrap into a tubular configuration and to remain substantially in the first and second states absent some externally applied force.

SWIMSUIT

The present invention relates to a swimsuit 23 including an elastic polyurethane yarn. The elastic polyurethane yarn contains; 0.5 to 10 mass % of a cationic high-molecular-weight compound A having a number-average molecular weight of 2000 or more; and an inorganic chlorine deterioration inhibitor B. The mass ratio of the cationic high-molecular-weight compound A to the inorganic chlorine deterioration inhibitor B ranges from 0.3 to 3, and a silicone oil is applied to the elastic polyurethane yarn. A fabric for the swimsuit is treated with water repellent finishing. The swimsuit 23 preferably includes an elastic polyurethane yarn whose ratio of fluorine (F) to carbon (C) on the elastic polyurethane yarn is 0.030 or more in an elemental mass concentration according to scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX). Thereby, it is possible to provide a swimsuit with high water repellency, low water retention rate, and high buoyancy.

FULLY-FORMED VOLUMETRICALLY WOVEN ARTICLE
20220403567 · 2022-12-22 ·

A volumetric weaving approach employs a vertical aspect of woven warp and weft fibers to generate volumetric structures through formation of tie-downs. Tie downs define warp and weft fibers that take a vertical path or component extending perpendicular to a weave plane. Independently controlled heddles provide selective warp fibers control, and a two-dimensional creel that dispenses the warp fibers at differing feed rates allows manipulation of the fibers into three dimensional structures or portions. As a shuttle draws the weft fiber, different layers are raised and lowered to lend a vertical axis to the resulting volumetric structure. Interconnections between the portions include the use of the tie downs to connect multiple portions to define 3-dimensional panels of a finished article such as a shoe. A single pass defining all the interconnected portions of the shoe generates the fully formed shoe without subsequent cutting and seaming of different textile panels.

Fuel cell

The invention relates to a fuel cell (2) comprising at least one membrane/electrode unit (10) comprising a first electrode (21) and a second electrode (22), which electrodes are separated from one another by a membrane (18), and comprising at least one bipolar plate (40) which comprises a first distribution region (50) for distributing a fuel to the first electrode (21) and a second distribution region (60) for distributing an oxidation agent to the second electrode (22). A distribution unit (30) is provided in at least one of the distribution regions (50, 60) and has at least one flat woven fabric (80), wherein the flat woven fabric (80) is deformed in such a way that raised portions (32) of the woven fabric (80) touch one of the electrodes (21, 22).
