WOVEN FABRIC AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
It is an object to provide a woven fabric which can stably form a folding shape superior in shape retention and followability and which can be sewn while maintaining the folding structure, and also to provide a method for manufacturing the same. There is provided a woven fabric having pleats, wherein the height of the pleats is 2 to 10 times the average diameter of yarns arranged in the same direction as the pleats.

STRUCTURED PAPERMAKING FABRIC
Disclosed are papermaking fabrics comprising a plurality of structuring elements disposed on a carrier structure. The fabrics are useful in the manufacture of tissue products having good caliper and smoothness without negatively affecting drying of the tissue product. The fabrics have structuring elements having a polygonal cross-sectional shape and a perimeter less than 3.6 mm, such as from about 1.4 to 3.6 mm. In certain instances the structuring elements may cover more than about 28 percent, such as from about 28 to about 35 percent, of the surface area of the web contacting surface of the carrier structure without adversely affecting drying. In this manner the amount of the nascent web that contacts the structuring elements and is molded into a smooth surface is maximized without exacerbating the negative affect to drying commonly associated with occluding a large portion of the surface area of the papermaking fabric.

Balanced crimp substrate reinforcement for molded products
A rubber molded product such as a brake cylinder diaphragm with a balanced elongation substrate reinforcement in both the warp and fill directions incorporated therein is provided. The fabric substrate reinforcement is woven without size and overfed after the weaving process leading to balanced crimp and elongation in the length and width directions. The fabric member is also woven with a reduced number of weft threads to start, but which are added back by overfeeding to further render the fabric elongation more isotropic in at least the warp and fill directions. The reinforcement substrate is placed in the mold along with the molding material and formed into the desired shape to assist in shape retention and overall structural stability. A method of forming a molded product including a balanced crimp reinforcement substrate is also provided.
WOVEN STRUCTURE, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR A FLANGED COMPOSITE COMPONENT
An apparatus for manufacturing an annular or semi-annular composite component having a circumferentially-extending base and a flange, the apparatus including: a loom for weaving a woven preform of fibre reinforcement material for the composite component; a rotatable mandrel configured to receive and draw the woven preform through the loom for weaving; and a guide disposed between the loom and the rotatable mandrel, configured so that a woven preform drawn by the rotatable mandrel along a guide path under tension engages the guide to transition to a flanged profile at a lip of the guide before being received on the mandrel.

Systems and methods for reduced crimp carbon fiber helical fabric
Systems and methods for weaving helical carbon fabrics with minimum fiber crimp are provided herein. In various embodiments, small denier natural or synthetic yarns are used in the warp direction to interlace the carbon fiber wefts with minimum deformation. Specific weave designs are used in combination with the small denier yarn to maintain the primary carbon fiber weft and warp un-crimped.

SELF-WRAPPING, BRAIDED TEXTILE SLEEVE WITH SELF-SUSTAINING EXPANDED AND CONTRACTED STATES AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
A self-wrapping protective textile sleeve and method of construction is provided. The sleeve includes a braided, tubular wall having opposite free edges extending lengthwise between opposite ends. The wall has a first state with a decreased length, increased cross-sectional area and a second state with an increased length, decreased cross-sectional area, as viewed in cross-section taken generally transversely to a central longitudinal axis. The wall further includes braided, heat-set yarns imparting a bias on the wall, wherein the bias causes the wall to self-wrap into a tubular configuration and to remain substantially in the first and second states absent some externally applied force.
