Medical negative-pressure chamber with movable table
A treatment device for medical and/or cosmetic therapy includes a negative-pressure chamber receiving a lower half of a person's body. The negative-pressure chamber is designed as a tube and has an admission opening sealed off from the person's body by a closure element. A first part of a table is arranged in the interior of the negative-pressure chamber. A second part of the table is arranged outside the negative-pressure chamber. The first part and the second part are each guided longitudinally on a linear guide. The first part can be moved at least partially out of the negative-pressure chamber and the second part can be moved away from the admission opening. A synchronization between the first part and the second part allows the first and second parts to be moved at the same speed in the same direction.
Bed enabling simulation of an absence of gravity, sensorial simulation and/or isolation device incorporating said bed
A bed making it possible to simulate an absence of gravity comprises a tank containing a fluid with a specific gravity of between 1.20 and 1.23, a plate mobile between a high position above the fluid and an immersed low position, and a membrane covering the plate and having a thickness less than or equal to 0.3 mm A sensory isolation and/or stimulation chamber incorporates such a bed.
Air conditioning assembly
An air conditioning assembly for an environmental chamber includes an air handling unit for supplying air to the environmental chamber. A plurality of ducts in fluid communication with the air handing unit and in fluid communication with the environmental chamber are configured to draw air from one side of the environmental chamber through at least one outlet vent, and to blow air into an opposite side of the environmental chamber through at least one equal but opposite inlet vent. At least one air conditioning means in fluid communication with the at least one air handling unit is configured to condition the air flow passing through the air handling unit. The at least one air conditioning means includes an altitude simulator for changing the oxygen content of the air flow. In use, the air conditioning assembly is configured to create substantially laminar air flow throughout the environmental chamber.
Oxygenation System
An exhaust gas flow control system for an oxygenator of an extracorporeal ventilation system connected to an oxygenation gas supply line and to an exhaust line for removal of exhaust gas comprises a flow control path, a pressure control path, an exhaust flow regulator responsive to the controller, and an exhaust gas pressure regulator responsive to a controller configured to maintain a pre-determined pressure level in the exhaust line. This provides a better degree of control over the pressure across the oxygenator from oxygenation gas inlet to exhaust.
Therapeutic apparatus and therapeutic method
A therapeutic apparatus, which treats fatigue of the whole body, is provided. A plurality of speakers/sensors which apply an oscillating pressure to a subject are provided. An airtight chamber and a vacuum pump unit, which change the subject into the state of a negative pressure from the atmospheric pressure, are provided. A control unit adjusts distribution of the oscillating pressure by the output of each speaker/sensor is provided. Further, the control unit adjusts each speaker/sensor, in order that the oscillating pressure of a same extent is applied to a plurality of parts of the body, simultaneously. Thereby, the whole body of the subject can recover from fatigue.
Portable negative-pressure medical and dental isolation chamber and procedures of use
A portable negative air pressure apparatus for isolating a treatment subject to permit a selected treatment procedure to be performed by a treatment operator. The apparatus comprises an air source connected to a closed chamber for sealable disposition over the head, neck and upper thorax of the treatment subject with the chamber having air ports, in and out. The chamber has rigid clear sides and a plurality of sealed ports, with the ports including sealed armholes for access, and with sealed gloves connected to the sealed armholes. The chamber also has at least one instrument hatch to permit introduction into the chamber of instruments for carrying-out the selected treatment procedure.
System and method of using hyperbaric oxygen therapy for treating concussive symptoms and musculoskeletal injuries and for pre-treatment to prevent damage from injuries
A system and method are provided for performing hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment to stop a cascading effect of an inflammatory response to an injury. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is performed during the inflammation to suppress the release of cytokines, most preferably, within 72 hours of sustaining the injury. Subject to evaluation of the patient, at least a second hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment is performed.
ENHANCEMENT OF VASODILATORY FUNCTION AND LOWERING OF EFFECTIVE SYSTEMIC VASCULAR RESISTANCE
A method for treating, preventing, or ameliorating cardiovascular disease in a subject involves exposing the subject for an effective duration to a condition of hypobaric normoxia or hypobaric hyperoxia. An apparatus or system useful for treating, preventing, or ameliorating cardiovascular disease includes an airtight chamber configured to accommodate and enclose a subject, and including at least one hatch to allow entry or exit of the subject; a vacuum source for adjusting pressure within the chamber to a level sufficient to maintain hypobaria; and a gas source for introducing one or more gases into the chamber, such as oxygen in an amount sufficient to produce a condition of normoxia or hyperoxia within the chamber, while maintaining hypobaria.
Biosafety Containment System
A biosafety containment chamber comprises a rigid frame that supports an enclosure made of a flexible, substantially transparent material, which includes at least top and side surfaces joined to provide a fully enclosed environment. A plurality of glove ports are disposed on the enclosure, each including a flexible glove that enables manipulation of items within the enclosure. The biosafety containment chamber further comprises an air supply system to draw air into the fully enclosed environment through an intake HEPA filter, and an air exhaust system to draw air from the fully enclosed environment into an external environment through an exhaust HEPA filter. The air supply system and the air exhaust system are configurable to maintain a negative pressure in the fully enclosed environment.
ISOLATION ROOM APPARATUS
An isolation room apparatus configured to isolate a subject, the apparatus including: a frame movable between collapsed and erected configurations, the frame including: first and second front frame members; first and second rear frame members; a canopy mounting mounted to each frame member, and, a curtain rail that in the erected configuration is mounted proximate upper ends of the first and second front frame members so that the curtain rail extends between the first and second front frame members above an opening defining a doorway; and, a canopy configured to be supported by the frame in the erected configuration, the canopy defining an internal volume for containing a subject to thereby substantially isolate the subject from a surrounding environment.
