Systems and methods for creating topographical woven fabric

Provided are systems and methods for producing seamless woven materials that are variable in each of their 3 dimensions. The systems and methods generally operate by altering heddle positions independently to impart three dimensional structure to a woven fabric. Weft yarn is woven into a set of warp yarns that have been individually raised or lowered along a particular cross section, essentially locking the weave into an intended 3 dimensional form.

Loom

A loom including a drive transmission shaft connected to a warp beam via a gear member inside a loom frame and inserted in a through-hole formed in a side frame, and a support structure for supporting the drive transmission shaft, the support structure including a first bearing and a second hearing externally fitted to the drive transmission shaft at an interval in an axis line direction. The support structure includes a first bearing case configured to accommodate therein the first bearing and attached to the side frame inside the loom frame and a second bearing case configured to accommodate therein the second bearing and attached to the side frame outside the loom frame.

Loom

Each of the elastic composite yarns is in a form of a singly-covered yarn in which the elastic core yarn is covered by a single layer of the sheath yarn helicoidally wound around a periphery of the elastic core yarn, a number of turns of the sheath yarn per 1 meter of the elastic core yarn being in a range of 1,000 to 2,500 T/m. A stretching magnification ratio of each of the elastic composite yarns, in the elastic woven fabric in a weaving process, is retained equal to or less than 1.30 folds based on the elastic composite yarn before weaving.

The yarn feeding frame is provided with a positive yarn feeding assembly including a positive yarn feeding power component and positive yarn feeding wheels on the yarn feeding frame, the positive yarn feeding wheels correspond to yarn bobbins on the yarn bobbin frame, an outer circumference surface of a wheel shaft of each positive yarn feeding wheel defines spiral yarn feeding grooves, a groove mouth width of each yarn feeding groove is matched with a width of a strand of yarn, the yarn on the yarn bobbins is wound on the positive yarn feeding wheels, each yarn feeding groove accommodates a single strand of the yarn, and the positive yarn feeding power component is configured to drive the positive yarn feeding wheels to rotate and feed the yarn through a transmission gear assembly.
