UPPER FOR AN ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR WITH A LATTICE STRUCTURE
An upper for an article of footwear may have a knitted component, where the knitted component has a first edge extending from a first side of a throat area of the upper, through a heel area of the upper, and to a second side of the throat area. At least a portion of the first edge may include a lattice structure, the lattice structuring having a first lattice band and a second lattice band, the first lattice band and the second lattice band having loops that are intermeshed in at least one location, where a plurality of first openings are located between the first lattice band and the second lattice band. At least one of the lattice bands may include a yarn having a tenacity of at least 5 g/d, and/or the first and second lattice bands may be formed from separate yarns.
Methods to increase structural performance, strength and durability of fabric-reinforced composite materials by pre-stressing
Methods to increase structural performance, strength, and durability of textile-reinforced composite materials are provided. The textile reinforcement may be knitted, for example, in a flat bed weft knitting machine. The method may include pre-stressing a textile reinforcement preform by applying tension. A polymeric precursor may be introduced to the pre-stressed textile reinforcement preform. The polymeric precursor may then be cured or consolidated, followed by releasing of the applied tension to form the composite article comprising polymer and the pre-stressed textile reinforcement. In other aspects, a composite article is provided that has a pre-stressed textile reinforcement structure and a cured polymer. The textile reinforcement may be a knitted, lightweight, seamless, unitary structure. The knitted reinforcement structure may have distinct first and second knitted regions with different levels of pre-stress, thus providing enhanced control over strength, rigidity, and flexibility of the composite article.
Welted textile orthosis
An orthosis chosen from a venous support orthosis and an elastic venous compression orthosis, the orthosis including a ribbed top and a leg part, the ribbed top including an intermediate part extending the leg part, the stitch being different on each side of the boundary separating the leg part and the intermediate part, a welt extending the intermediate part and of a height less than 1.5 cm.
Method of knitting a fabric using a knitting machine and a knitting machine
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for knitting a fabric using a knitting machine. The knitting machine is arranged to knit with a plurality of yarns using a corresponding plurality of knitting needles, each knitting needle being arranged during knitting of a stitch to connect with and knit with one of the plurality of yarns. The method controllably varies the stitch length for each stitch in dependence on the pattern to be knitted.
EPIDERMIS MATERIAL FOR VEHICLE SEAT
A cover material for a vehicle seat provides favorable touch while utilizing the texture of a leather material. A cover material for a vehicle seat includes: a leather portion made of natural leather or artificial leather; and a mesh fabric portion bonded to the back side of the leather portion.
Laminated cloth
Provided is a laminated body, said laminated body being a laminated cloth the back surface of which has excellent properties against tangling and abrasion and good separability from the skin and which has a good texture and a favorable appearance and is comfortable to wear when made into clothing. The laminated cloth includes a front surface layer, a middle layer and a back surface layer, said layers being stacked one on another, wherein: the front surface layer comprises one member selected from the group consisting of a woven fabric, a knitted fabric and a non-woven fabric; the middle layer comprises a resin film or a non-woven fabric; and the back surface layer comprises a circular knitted fabric in which filament yarn of 60 dtex or less is used at least in part thereof and which is configured from knitting stitches and tack stitches, 9 to 72 said tack stitches being disposed per area of 12 wales×12 courses.
COMFORT HOSIERY WITH SEAMLESS CUSHIONED AREA
A garment constructed by a cylinder knitting machine with a comfort quality area on or near the foot area, created by a different method of knitting from the rest of the tight. The difference between the quality of the leg and comfort portion of the garment (i.e., tights) consists of the use of a different needle movement and/or knitting tool, but is not limited to just that. Additionally, the fiber may also differ in the comfort area as compared to the leg area of the tights in order to reach different end results.
Method of manufacturing an article of footwear having a knit upper with a polymer layer
A method of manufacturing an article of footwear with an upper and a sole structure secured to the upper is described. The upper includes a knitted component and a polymer layer. The knitted component is formed of unitary knit construction and extends along a lateral side of the upper, along a medial side of the upper, over a forefoot region of the upper, and around a heel region of the upper. The polymer layer is bonded to the knitted component and may form a majority of an exterior surface of the upper. The polymer layer may be formed from a thermoplastic polymer material.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING TUBULAR ARTICLES PROVIDED WITH A GRIP REGION BY WAY OF CIRCULAR HOSIERY KNITTING MACHINES, AND TUBULAR ARTICLE OBTAINED WITH THE METHOD
A method for manufacturing tubular articles provided with a grip region on their reverse side, particularly for providing hold-up stockings, by way of circular hosiery knitting machines, comprising the use of a circular hosiery knitting machine that has at least two feeds or drops, of which at least one first feed is capable of dispensing a bare elastomer yarn; at the first feed, at least one needle of at least one group of contiguous needles is moved to a “tuck” position or to a “drop” position knit in order to pick up the bare elastomer yarn while the other needles of the group of needles are held in or moved to the “miss” position and therefore excluded from picking up the bare elastomer yarn.
ARTILE OF FOOTWEAR INCORPORATING A KNITTED COMPONENT HAVING FLOATED PORTIONS
An article of footwear may include an upper incorporating a knitted component formed of unitary knit construction. The knitted component includes portions having extended floated portions to distribute forces acting on the knitted component and resist stretching of the knitted component when the article of footwear is worn during a sport or athletic activity.
