Systems And Methods For Assisting Surgery

Surgical systems and methods for assisting with procedures involving a subject's limb, such as a leg associated with a knee or hip joint. One or more robotic arms move and position the limb to manipulate the joint. The robotic arm(s) can be controlled based on a sensed joint gap or desired joint gap. An arthroscope can capture imagery of the joint and a tracking system can track poses of the arthroscope, the robotic arm(s), and the limb.

Soft tissue balancing in articular surgery

Systems and methods may be used to perform robot-aided surgery. A system may include a robotic controller to monitor a position and orientation of an end effector coupled to an end of a robotic arm. The robotic controller may apply a force to a bone using the end effector, such as via a soft tissue balancing component. The robotic controller may determine soft tissue balance using information from a tracking system, such as a position of a first tracker affixed to the bone. The soft tissue balance may be output, such as to a display device.

Knee positioner with expandable carriage

Apparatus for adjustably positioning extremity or body part such as knees hands, or feet for a surgical procedure having a carriage with a base adapted to engage a track for sliding movement there along, an arm configured to fit to the base at a hinge secured by a pin, a socket formed by the joining of the base and arm configured to accept a ball of a holder generally adapted to engage and support the extremity upon which the surgical procedure is to be performed, and a clamp adjacent cooperating with the hinge to lock a position of the carriage along a track and to lock a holder of an extremity in a secure position. The carriage is configured to be tightened and loosened by the movement of one handle, thereby forming a releasable lock to the ball in the socket and carriage position.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LIGAMENT BALANCING IN ROBOTIC SURGERY

Systems and methods for ligament balancing during robotic surgery. One or more transducers are positioned within a knee joint to detect forces indicative of tension in ligaments and to provide output based on the detected forces. A distraction device is used to provide a distraction force to cause movement of a distal end portion of a femur relative to a proximal end portion of a tibia to increase tension in the ligaments. Information associated with output from the transducers is displayed for viewing.

METHODS FOR ROBOTIC SURGERY USING A CANNULA

Methods for preparing a bone in surgery using an imaging system, a navigation system having a locating device, and a robotic system having a cutting tool. A cannula is guided into an incision to expand the incision and provide access to the bone so that the cutting tool is insertable through the cannula to remove material from the bone. An implant is insertable through the cannula to be placed in the bone.

Devices and Methods for Supporting a Patient's Legs

A foot holding assembly for securing a foot of a patient during a surgical or diagnostic procedure includes a boot configured to hold the foot of the patient. In addition the assembly includes a rigid sole coupled to the boot. Further, the assembly includes a pivot arm having a first end rotatably coupled to the sole with a rotatable coupling configured to allow the sole to rotate relative to the first end of the pivot arm about an axis oriented perpendicular to the sole. The rotatable coupling includes an incremental locking mechanism including a locked position and an unlocked position. When the incremental locking mechanism is in the locked position, the rotational position of the sole about the axis is releasably locked. When the incremental locking mechanism is in the unlocked position, the sole is free to rotate relative the first end of the pivot arm only about the axis.

Surgical foot support with handles

A surgical boot includes a shell shaped to receive a patient's foot. The shell has a plurality of handles molded integrally with a main body. The handles are sized and arranged for gripping by a surgeon during surgery to reposition the foot.

Traction Operating Table for Lower Limb Joint Surgery

[Problem] To provide a system for installing and storing a traction operating table for lower limb joint surgery, the system enabling a traction operating table for lower limb joint surgery to be more easily installed on an operating table main body.

[Solution] A traction operating table for lower limb joint surgery according to an aspect of the present invention comprises: a main frame part provided with a main frame having two rod-shaped members; a position adjusting part provided with a moving frame that is movable, and a foot fixing portion for fixing a foot; and a supporting leg part joined to the position adjusting part to support the main frame part, and capable of adjusting the incline of the main frame part. The position adjusting part includes a grip portion cap able of setting, by one gripping action, a first mode in which a moving action along the main frame and an incline adjusting action of the supporting leg part are fixed; a second mode in which the moving action along the main frame is released and the incline adjusting action of the supporting leg part is fixed; and a third mode in which the moving action along the main frame and the incline adjusting action of the supporting leg part are released.

Devices and methods for supporting a patient's legs

A system and method for securing a patient's leg during a medical or diagnostic procedure having a rail assembly including a first rail pivotally coupled to a second rail, a slider block, a pivot arm, and a sole assembly with a boot to restrain and support the patient's foot.

Telescoping and elevating femoral support

A system for manipulating the position and orientation of a patient's leg includes an extension rail configured to be coupled to an operating table or bed. In addition, the system includes an elongate support rail coupled to the extension rail and having a longitudinal axis. Further, the system includes a deck coupled to the support rail. The deck is configured to be moved axially relative to the support rail.
