Knit apparel with integral airflow and standoff zones

Knit apparel formed using knitted structures and yarn content to create zonal venting and material standoff are provided. In aspects, garments having standoff structures knitted into one or more zones within the garment, on an internal and/or external surface of the garment, include tops and half-tights. The standoff structures are created using missed stitches with floats adjacent knitted stitches are integral to the surrounding material. Additionally, garments having airflow apertures are included, with transfer-stitch structures creating integral openings within the surrounding material.

Zoned Spinneret and High Loft Nonwoven Fabrics

A spinneret for melt-spinning polymeric fibers including a spinneret body including a plurality of spinning orifices formed through a thickness of spinneret body is provided. The plurality of spinning orifices include (i) a plurality of multicomponent spinning orifices comprising a first multicomponent opening and a separate second multicomponent opening, and (ii) a plurality of monocomponent spinning orifices comprising a single monocomponent opening. Nonwoven fabrics having regions of monocomponent and multicomponent fibers are provided as well as methods of forming such nonwoven fabrics utilizing a zoned-spinneret.

FIRE-RESISTANT TEXTILE COMPOSITE

The application relates to a fire-resistant textile composite having an upper surface and a lower surface. The composite contains a nonwoven layer and a knit layer. The nonwoven layer has a first and second side and contains a nonwoven textile. The nonwoven textile contains a plurality of first fire-resistant fibers, where the first fire-resistant fibers are non-thermoplastic. The nonwoven layer forms the lower surface of the textile composite. The knit layer contains a knit textile having a first and second side and the second side of the knit layer is adjacent to the first side of the nonwoven layer. The knit textile contains a plurality of second fire-resistant yarns, where the second fire-resistant yarns are non-thermoplastic. At least a portion of the first fire-resistant fibers from the nonwoven layer extend through the first side of the knit layer and form the upper surface of the textile composite.

Absorbent articles containing dark-tinted nonwoven webs are provided. The dark-tinted nonwoven web may include a first plurality of filaments having a diameter between a between about 8 m and about 50 m, wherein the first plurality of filaments includes a pigment. The dark-tinted nonwoven web may include a second plurality of filaments having a diameter between about 0.3 m and about 5 m. The dark-tinted nonwoven web may have a CIE L* value of between about 0 and about 26.

The dark-tinted nonwoven web may include a first plurality of filaments having a diameter between a between about 8 m and about 50 m, wherein the first plurality of filaments includes a pigment. The dark-tinted nonwoven web may include a second plurality of filaments having a diameter between about 0.3 m and about 5 m. The first plurality of filaments and/or the second plurality of filaments may include crimped filaments. The dark-tinted nonwoven web may have a CIE L* value of between about 0 and about 25, as measured from a first side or a second side of the nonwoven web.

Heavy Duty Silt Fence Using Nonwoven Silt Retention Fabric

A silt fence includes a plurality of spaced stakes and a silt fence fabric coupled to the stakes wherein the silt fence fabric is a nonwoven needle punched fabric having a thickness of at least 5.25 mm, a denier size of 10-25 and a weight of 9-24 oz/square yard. The silt fence fabric may be asymmetrical dual sided needle punched wherein the downstream side of the fabric is punched 2-6 times more than the upstream side. The silt fence fabric may have a transverse direction orientation of fibers forming the fabric. The fence may include two independent tensioning members. The silt fence may include at least one vertical transverstivity cutoff element that prevents water from migrating from above the cutoff element within the fabric to below the cutoff element.

FABRIC HAVING TOBACCO ENTANGLED WITH STRUCTURAL FIBERS

A smokeless tobacco product includes smokeless tobacco and structural fibers. The structural fibers forming a network in which the smokeless tobacco is entangled. The structural fibers have a composition different from the smokeless tobacco. The tobacco-entangled fabric can have an overall oven volatiles content of at least 10 weight percent. In some embodiments, the structural fibers form a nonwoven network. In some embodiments, fibrous structures of the smokeless tobacco are entangled with the structural fibers.
