PATIENT IMMOBILIZATION DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMMOBILIZING A PATIENT
The invention relates to a patient immobilization apparatus (100) comprising a planar element (105) made of a non-woven fabric. The planar element (105) has an elongate middle section (110) and a plurality of arms (120; 130), which extend out laterally on both sides of the middle section (110). The patient immobilization apparatus (100) can be provided to the end user, preferably in a folded state. In the folded state, each of the arms (120; 130) is folded laterally on the elongate middle section (110). Parts of the elongate middle section (110), having the arms (120; 130) folded laterally thereon, are advantageously additionally foldable onto each other in the longitudinal direction. Each arm (120; 130) can be folded laterally in part on itself before it is folded laterally on the elongate middle section (110).
Table mounted retractor system
The present disclosure generally relates to a table-mounted retractor system for open-spine surgery. The table-mounted retractor system includes a frame, wherein the frame is situated lateral to the patient. The table-mounted retractor system further comprises a plurality of retractor hooks wherein each of the plurality of retractor hooks are in operative association with one of a plurality of tension lines, wherein each of the plurality of tension lines is engaged with the frame. Each one of the plurality of retractor hooks are operable to engage with the flesh of a patient as each of the tension lines pull the flesh back laterally towards the frame along each side of the patient.
Equalizer clamp assembly, system and method
A multi-directional, equalizer clamp device is disclosed that provides, via a single action, a way to lock multiple objects that may be disposed in different numerous directions. The clamp may also achieve clamping using numerous force factors, and may be configured to attach and secure objects, such as pins, to the side rail of a support and/or operating table via a single-point of operation. The clamp device comprises upper and lower body portions which are configured to clamp to a side rail along a primary clamping direction, and are further configured to receive objects and clamp them along a secondary clamping direction. The clamp device further comprises a control assembly, such as a knob, to facilitate and achieve simultaneous clamping along both primary and secondary clamping directions at a single point of control.
METHOD OF SECURING A PATIENT ONTO AN OPERATING OR SURGICAL TABLE WHEN THE PATIENT IS IN A POSITION, SUCH AS TRENDELENBURG, FOR A HIP PROCEDURE AND APPARATUS THEREFOR INCLUDING A KIT
Method of securing a patient onto an operating or surgical table when the patient is in a position for a hip procedure and apparatus therefor including a kit. The abstract of the disclosure is submitted herewith as required by 37 C.F.R. § 1.72(b). As stated in 37 C.F.R. § 1.72(b): A brief abstract of the technical disclosure in the specification must commence on a separate sheet, preferably following the claims, under the heading “Abstract of the Disclosure.” The purpose of the abstract is to enable the Patent and Trademark Office and the public generally to determine quickly from a cursory inspection the nature and gist of the technical disclosure. The abstract shall not be used f or interpreting the scope of the claims. Therefore, any statements made relating to the abstract are not intended to limit the claims in any manner and should not be interpreted as limiting the claims in any manner.
EXPANDABLE CARRIAGE WITH ADJUSTABLE CROSS NUT
An apparatus for adjustably positioning an extremity or body part such as knees, hands, or feet for a surgical procedure comprising a carriage including a base adapted to engage a track for selective positioning there along, an arm configured to pivotably attach to the base, and a socket formed by the joining of the base and arm, the socket configured to accept a ball of an extremity holder. The apparatus further comprises a clamping assembly and an adjustable cross nut assembly. The adjustable cross nut assembly provides clocking and/or adjustable positioning of an internal thread start to provide optimal positioning of the handle that achieves the clamping effect, as the threads are subject to wear and plastic deformation due to use over time.
Mounting bracket for use with a surgical table
The present invention discloses a surgical traction system with a hand gripped tension adjustment device that slidably mounts onto a boom structure. When activated the tension adjustment device moves down the boom structure and incrementally adjusts the tension in a traction rope. The boom structure attaches to a bracket assembly that mounts onto the short end of a surgical table.
SPLIT BASE PLATE ASSEMBLY USING PINS
This disclosure pertains to a separable base plate assembly configured to securely attached to a side rail of an operating room table and to hold, move, and maintain a body part in a specific position as needed in orthopedic surgery. The separable base plate assembly is further configured to decouple into separate parts to facilitate sterilization of said parts, after an orthopedic surgery is performed. The separable base plate assembly may comprise two or more base portions including track portions, a base plate connector, drop pins, and associated components adapted for securing the assembly, which in turn is configured to be assembled to a clamp that rigidly attaches the assembly to the operating room table side rail.
ROBOT-ASSISTED SETUP FOR A SURGICAL ROBOTIC SYSTEM
A method performed by a surgical robotic system. The method determines a surgical procedure that is to be performed using a robotic arm. The method determines, for the robotic arm, a planned trajectory based on the surgical procedure, where the planned trajectory is from a current pose of the robotic arm to a predefined procedure pose that is within a threshold distance from a trocar that is coupled to a patient. The method drives the robotic arm along the planned trajectory from the current pose to the predefined procedure pose.
PATIENT POSITIONING DEVICE FOR LATERAL AND PRONE SINGLE-POSITION SPINE SURGERY
A patient positioner for supporting a patient in a prone position includes a base plate, an adjustable platform movable relative to the base plate, a support assembly supported on the adjustable platform, a lateral constraint assembly positioned on the adjustable platform, and a position lock operable to selectively lock the adjustable platform relative to the base plate. The patient positioner is adjustable to adjust the position of the patient and to adjust the orientation of the patient's spine in the coronal and sagittal planes.
Patient securement system for the surgical Trendelenburg position
A patient securing overlay is provided that includes a sheet of fabric for supporting a patient's torso on a surgical table. The sheet of fabric has an upper surface configured to face the patient and a lower surface configured to face a surgical table mattress or underbody support. The sheet of fabric includes friction enhancing elements applied to at least a portion of the upper surface thereof. The sheet of fabric can include an extension at a foot end of the sheet of fabric that provides material to be tucked under a foot end of the surgical table mattress or underbody support for securing the foot end of the sheet of fabric to the surgical table mattress or underbody support. The extension can include one or more friction enhancing elements.
