A modular surgical system includes a base and a column extending from the base. An adaptor is positioned at a top of the column. An elevation assembly is provided to adjust a height of the adaptor. A control system is positioned in at least one of the base or the column. The control system is configured to communicate with remote devices. The control system is further configured to control the elevation assembly.

A height-adjustable support for supporting various bodily limbs over a wide range of limb positions, and in hospital rooms, doctors' offices, or other compact environments. The device permits a medical procedure to be performed by a single person while the device supports the limb. The device includes a rigid base, at least one support mounted to the base to extend therefrom, and a cradle mounted on the support, the cradle defining a surface configured to support a limb of a patient. The supports may be adjustable in length, and the cradle may be adjustable in angular position. The cradle may be U-shaped or otherwise concavely-shaped, and may be linked with a cushioning material. A cover may be provided, and the cover and/or cradle may be configured with complementary fasteners for releasably attaching the cover to the cradle, so that the cover may be discarded after each use.

Battery management for patient support apparatuses

A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, recliner, cot, stretcher, operating table, or the like, includes battery-powered circuitry whose functions are reduced, but not eliminated, as the battery charge level falls below a threshold. Electrical power may be cut off to one or more components of the battery-powered circuitry while still providing battery-supplied electrical power to the other components of the circuitry. A user interface provides battery status data, including a replacement status of a rechargeable battery, and allows a user to select different formats for displaying battery status data. Such formats include displays of battery charge level information not only in manners specific to the battery, but also in manners relative to the patient support apparatus, such as displays of how many, or how much of, one or more functions the patient support apparatus is able to perform based on the battery's current charge level.

The actuating mobility assembly is configured to cooperate with the table actuation assembly to thereby actuate the wheel assembly relative to the base assembly to thereby transition the medical examination table between the first mobility configuration to the second mobility configuration.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONCOMITANT MEDICAL PROCEDURES

Systems and methods for performing concomitant medical procedures are disclosed. In one aspect, the method involves controlling a first robotic arm to insert a first medical instrument through a first opening of a patient and controlling a second robotic arm to insert a second medical instrument through a second opening of the patient. The first robotic arm and the second robotic arm are part of a first platform and the first opening and the second opening are positioned at two different anatomical regions of the patient.

A center of rotation may be determined based on first information about a robotic region of interest of a robot and second information about a patient region of interest. An operating table having multiple degrees of freedom may be caused to rotate about the center of rotation from a first position to a second position. A control system may be caused to control the robot based on the operating table being in the second position.

A robotic medical system can include a motorized arm that is supported by a column of the system. The robotic arm can be operated by rotating a link of the motorized arm by actuating an actuator to drive rotation of a rotary joint. A brake can then be applied to the rotary joint to stop rotation of the link. The arm can also include an arbor that can be actuated to increase a torsional stiffness of the rotary joint.

The present invention provides a braking device for an operating table base, comprising at least two supporting legs, each supporting leg having a pivoting end and a supporting end distanced from the pivoting end. The operating table base supports an operation bed whose projected area covers the operating table base. The operating table base has a first pivoting portion corresponding to each supporting leg, and each supporting leg has a second pivoting portion at the pivoting end to correspond to the first pivoting portion of the operating table base. The first pivoting portion pivotally connects to the second pivoting portion, so that each supporting leg rotates with respect to the operating table base. The supporting ends of the supporting legs extend a supporting area of the operating table base
