A sewing system which includes a detector for detecting an edge of a cloth installed on an installation table, a cloth conveyor for conveying the cloth from the installation table to a sewing machine, and a controller, wherein the cloth conveyor includes a holding member that holds the cloth, and the controller includes a holding position decision portion that determines a holding position of the cloth based on detection data of the detector, and a conveyance control portion that controls the cloth conveyor such that the holding member holds the holding position. In the sewing system according to the above, it is possible to prevent deterioration in productivity of sewn products.

A sewing machine includes a contact area for two superimposed material webs, which have edges and which are to be sewn together by the sewing machine, wherein, in order to align the edges of the material webs to each other, there is a bottom guide element under the contact area for the bottom material web and a top guide element for the top material web above the contact area, wherein the guide elements are each rotatably mounted about a rotation axis. The rotation axes of the guide elements are arranged extending perpendicular to the contact area.

A sewing machine includes a contact area for two superimposed material webs, which have edges and which are to be sewn together by the sewing machine, wherein, in order to align the edges of the material webs to each other, there is a bottom guide element under the contact area for the bottom material web and a top guide element for the top material web above the contact area, wherein the guide elements are each rotatably mounted about a rotation axis. The rotation axes of the guide elements are arranged extending perpendicular to the contact area.

A sewing machine includes a support surface for two plies of material to be sewn together and a sewing mechanism that is attached to the support surface and is in operative connection with a machine controller, wherein a plate element positioned between the two material plies is arranged in the material feed area thereof. A vertical adjustment device for the plate element that is actuatable by the machine controller adjusts a vertical distance between the support surface and the plate element, and thus also influences the feed of material to the sewing mechanism. The vertical adjustment device is equipped with an electromagnet for adjusting the position of the plate element. The plate element is equipped with a magnet, which cooperates with the electromagnet.
SEWING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SEWING MACHINE
A sewing machine includes a support surface for two plies of material to be sewn together and a sewing mechanism that is attached to the support surface and is in operative connection with a machine controller, wherein a plate element positioned between the two material plies is arranged in the material feed area thereof. A vertical adjustment device for the plate element that is actuatable by the machine controller adjusts a vertical distance between the support surface and the plate element, and thus also influences the feed of material to the sewing mechanism. The vertical adjustment device is equipped with an electromagnet for adjusting the position of the plate element. The plate element is equipped with a magnet, which cooperates with the electromagnet.
AUTOMATIC EDGE POSITIONING AND FABRIC GUIDING FOR SEWING MACHINES
Apparatus and methods are provided for automatic edge positioning and guiding of a moving web, such as a textile fabric or carpet, onto a conveyor system comprising manufacturing operations such as sewing, for example. More in particular an apparatus is provided including mechanics, optics and control for steering and positioning the side edges of the moving web in order to correct for misalignment, and hence sewing can occur appropriately.
Methods and systems for stitching along a predetermined path
Disclosed is a guiding apparatus for use with a machine to facilitate performing an action along a self-guided path on a substrate. The guiding apparatus may include a support member configured to be attached to at least a portion of the machine. Further, the guiding apparatus may include one or more of lighting units, optical sensors, controllers, and user interface components, mounted on the support member, configured to identify an object, obtain position of the object on a substrate and perform an action along a self-guided path in association with that object on the substrate.
