Measurable guiding tool for sewing machine

A sewing machine guiding tool includes a presser foot, a holder and a gauge. The presser foot includes a bottom wall and a rear support. The bottom wall is formed with a needle-passing hole and with a slit extending from the needle-passing hole to the front end of the bottom wall. The rear support is connected to the rear end of the bottom wall. The holder, attached to a presser bar of the sewing machine, holds the presser foot pivotally about a horizontal axis. The gauge, supported by the rear support to be slidable in parallel to the horizontal axis, includes a ruler plate and a guide portion. The ruler plate has a surface marked with a scale. The guide portion extends from the ruler plate. The ruler plate is disposed above the bottom wall with its surface inclined to become higher as proceeding rearward.

Sewing machine and non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-readable instructions

A controller of a sewing machine obtains a rectangular frame embroidery pattern and obtains a first unit pattern to be laid out in each of four corner portions of the embroidery pattern and a second unit pattern to be repeatedly laid out in each of side portions of the embroidery pattern. The controller determines, based on the size of the embroidery pattern, the number of repeats of the second unit pattern in a target side portion. The controller generates pattern data for the embroidery pattern including the first unit pattern being laid out in each corner portion and the second unit pattern being laid out in the target side portion as many as the determined number of repeats of the second unit pattern. The controller causes the sewing machine to form the embroidery pattern on a workpiece held by an embroidery hoop based on the generated pattern data.

SEWING MACHINE

In a sewing machine, an arm includes, on one side thereof in a first direction, a head. A needle bar is disposed at the head to reciprocally move in a second direction. A feed mechanism feeds a workpiece from one side toward the other side of the head in a third direction. The projection unit disposed at the head projects a projection image toward a bed. The projection unit includes an emitter for projecting image light of the projection image. The photographing unit disposed at the head captures a photographing target. The photographing unit includes an incident portion on which light reflected by the photographing target is incident. The emitter and the incident portion are disposed further toward the one side of the arm in the first direction than the needle bar, and further toward the one side of the head in the third direction than the needle bar.

A sewing machine includes a bed, a projector configured to project an image toward the bed onto at least a guarantee area, a storage medium, and a controller. The controller controls the projector to project the image toward the bed onto a maximum area. The controller determines, based on a position of the image projected onto the maximum area, first world coordinates representing, in a real space coordinate system, a rectangular area contained in the maximum area. The controller determines, based on the first world coordinates, second world coordinates representing, in the real space coordinate system, a target area containing at least the guarantee area. The controller stores the second world coordinates in the storage medium.

A sewing machine determines a pattern from multiple patterns, as a first pattern. The sewing machine generates a projection image including a first image representing a sewing image of the first pattern in a sewing expected size thereof. The sewing machine projects the generated projection image onto a projection area. The sewing machine sews the first pattern on a workpiece in the sewing expected size based on pattern data for the first pattern.
