Leg pulling device

A leg pulling device has a traction device and a supporting device. At least one force or at least one pressure which is exerted on a patient by the supporting device upon the actuation of the traction device can be measured.

Anatomical gripping system for gripping the leg and foot of a patient when effecting hip distraction and/or when effecting leg positioning

An anatomical gripping system comprising: a binding comprising: a substantially rigid spine; a calf shell mounted to the substantially rigid spine; an anterior shell; and a clamping mechanism connecting the anterior shell to the calf shell; wherein the calf shell comprises a flexible portion configured to selectively engage the superior portion of the calcaneus bone of a patient; and further wherein when the clamping mechanism applies a force to the flexible portion of the calf shell, the flexible portion of the calf shell is drawn into engagement with the superior portion of the calcaneus bone of the patient.

A human body positioning system can employ a base that supports a first arm via a first hinge, a second arm connected to the first arm via a second hinge, and a third arm connected to the second arm via a third hinge. A human body may be supported within the third arm by a body support. Each of the arm can be configured with a cutout region positioned to provide physical access to a portion of the human body.

Head-holder support

A head-holder support for attaching a medical head-holder to a patient table is provided that has a rigid base body, an adjustable and lockable head-holder interface at the base body, which is adapted to adjustably couple the head-holder to the base body by providing at least three degrees of freedom for the spatial relative position between the head-holder and the base body, wherein the at least three degrees of freedom are lockable so as to establish a rigid coupling between the head-holder and the base body, and at least one robotic arm interface at the base body, which is adapted to provide a rigid coupling between a robotic arm and the base body.

Disposable kit

Arrangements described herein relate to systems, apparatuses, and methods for a disposable kit containing medical items configured for a medical device including a head cradle to support a head of a subject, the disposable kit includes a container that encloses a head cradle pad configured to be affixed to the head cradle, at least one fiducial marker configured to be disposed on a location at the head of the subject, and at least one enclosure configured to cover a portion of the medical device.

Method and apparatus for maintaining a patient in a prone position to improve respiration
11590041 · 2023-02-28 ·

An apparatus and method for maintaining a patient in the prone position while maintaining access to the patient's oral airway. The apparatus includes a body portion which in turn has a plurality of segments, each of which may accommodate a number of inserts therein as determined by the relative size of the patient. The segments may be selectively joined together approximately midway along the body portion and the inserts disposed therein may be independently adjusted so as to raise the patient's chest and hips off of a surface. The distal ends of the same segments may also be joined together to further form a head rest which maintains the patient's head and face off of the surface, thereby permitting access to the patient's oral airway even when the patient is lying face down. The inserts are removable and may be stored separately from the body portion when not in use.

SHOULDER HOLD DOWN AND LOCKING MECHANISM THEREFOR FOR USE WITH A SURGICAL FRAME
20230054071 · 2023-02-23 ·

A shoulder hold-down is provided for use in securing at least a shoulder of a patient in position relative to a surgical frame. The shoulder hold-down includes a locking mechanism that is adjustable to afford positioning of a shoulder engaging portion for contacting the patient.

DEVICE FOR CARDIO-PULMONARY RESUSCITATION OF A PATIENT

A device for cardio-pulmonary resuscitation of a patient includes a support base, a swivel support, a mask holder and two lateral support elements. The support base is wedge-shaped in order to support the patient. There are guiding means and swivel elements provided in the support base and in the swivel support. The device makes it possible to adjust the position of the mask holder both vertically and horizontally to adapt to the dimensions of the user via a plurality of toothed elements. The configuration allows the combination with any existing continuous ventilation equipment.

NERVE STIMULATION
20220362570 · 2022-11-17 ·

A device and method for providing mechanical ventilation of a user is described. In an embodiment the device comprises at least two metallic coils, each coil configured to be placed adjacent to a phrenic nerve of the user; and a stimulation unit for providing an electric current to the metallic coils, and wherein the current stimulates the phrenic nerve to induce tetanic contractions of a diaphragm muscle of the user to regulate the user's breathing. This provides a ventilation whilst reducing the rehabilitation time post ventilation for a user due to lower muscle wasting of the diaphragm.

Methods and devices for surgical access

A surgical instrument assembly includes a support frame system, and a surgical tool engageable with the support frame system. The support frame system is adapted for providing a surgical tool attachment and articulation locus that is maintained during the course of a surgical procedure to direct a fixed and repeatable delivery path for introduction and manipulation of one or more surgical instruments and implants at a surgical site in or on the patient's anatomy. The delivery path can be substantially curvilinear along an arc that is defined by a radius of curvature and length defined by the surgical tool, and a predetermined range of articulation of the tool at the articulation locus.
