Leg extension for procedure chair
An extension assembly for a procedure chair leg pad includes a frame and a leg pad assembly. The frame attaches to deployment tracks of the procedure chair through frame arms and includes a slot(s). At least one slot includes detents configured to receive and selectively restrain a guide member. The leg pad assembly is disposed in proximity to the frame and includes a guide member(s) extending therefrom, through a slot and movable relative to the frame. The leg pad assembly may be moved forward and rearward by manual adjustment, moving the guide members through their respective slots. Detents along the slots restrain the guide member at predefined positions until sufficient force is applied to overcome the geometry of the detent. A detent(s) is configured to prevent vertical movement of the leg pad assembly when stowed vertically, but still allow movement in a deployed position.

Patient examination system
A patient examination system for locating a patient above a floor. The patient examination system includes a frame assembly, one or more motion-controlling assemblies connected to the frame assembly for moving one or more selected movable portions of the frame assembly, and a patient support assembly that is supported by the frame assembly. The patient support assembly includes a seat subassembly, a back subassembly, a footrest subassembly, and a cover element covering a seat cushion and a footrest cushion in the footrest subassembly. The cover element has an exposed surface formed for engagement with the patient. The seat subassembly supports the seat cushion and is secured to the upper element of the frame assembly. The frame assembly is configured to support the seat subassembly relative to the floor in a lowered position thereof, in a raised position thereof, in intermediate seat positions therebetween, and in Trendelenburg positions.
Patient support apparatus with stabilization
A patient support apparatus includes a base, a seat supported by the base and a backrest pivotable between an upright position and a reclined position. In one embodiment, a backrest support member is coupled to the backrest and is adapted to move between a stowed position in which the backrest support member does not support the backrest and a deployed position in which the backrest support member does support the backrest. Movement to the deployed position occurs in response to activation of an emergency control. In other embodiments, the base includes a portion that moves into an extended position underneath the backrest when the backrest is in the reclined position. Movement of the base portion to the extended position also occurs in response to activation of an emergency control.

PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS
A patient support apparatus includes a frame, a stationary member mounted relative to the frame, a movable member having a pivot member rotatably mounting the movable member about the stationary member, and a fastener securing the pivot member to the stationary member. The patient support apparatus also includes a joint between the pivot member and the stationary member, which is configured to apply a tension force on the fastener.
THERAPEUTIC CHAIR WITH ADJUSTABLE BACK AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
A therapeutic chair with an adjustable backrest and cushioned fulcrum pad allows users to extend their thoracic spine over the fulcrum of the adjustable chair back. The device allows the individual to sit on the chair and adjust the height of the backrest so the fulcrum is matched to the patient's need for movement.
Cushioning devices with internal shear absorbing layer
Shear-reduction cushioning devices are provided for the prevention of shear related wounds. Cushioning devices include upper and lower cushioning layers that contact each other through at least one internal shear reduction layer provided between the cushioning layers and extending over a shear reduction region, such that dynamic relative translation of the two cushioning layers is permitted within the shear reduction region while absorbing friction and shear internally. The interface between the cushioning layers (where the shear reduction layer is provided) may be angled relative to an external surface of the cushioning device. The cushioning layers may be attached or attachable to one another beyond the shear reduction region, to limit an amount of relative translation of the cushioning layers and to re-center or reset the cushioning layers after use.
