OVERLOCK SEWING MACHINE

With a overlock sewing machine, when a switching mechanism is switched to a threading-enabled state, and a looper cover is closed, the looper cover is slid toward one side in the hinge shaft axial direction so as to operate a detection lever. In the non-operating state, the detection lever is set to an initial position where it does not press an operation protrusion of a switch. When a side cover is closed, and the detection lever is operated, the operation lever is set to an operation-enabled position where it presses the operation protrusion. When the operation lever is operated, and the side cover is opened, the detection lever is set by passing through the operation-enabled to the operation-disabled position where it does not press the operation protrusion.

A sewing machine includes a vertical shuttle and a middle shuttle presser disposed at a front side of the vertical shuttle. The sewing machine includes a presser frame, an optical upper thread detector and a stitch skipping detection processor. The presser frame is movably supported between a pressing position at which the middle shuttle presser is pressed and a retract position separated from the pressing position. The optical upper thread detector is provided at the presser frame and is configured to detect passage of an upper thread using detecting light which passes through passage portions formed in the middle shuttle presser and which crosses a front side of a bobbin case of the vertical shuttle. The stitch skipping detection processor is configured to determine whether the passage of the upper thread is present based on an amount of received light of the detecting light from the upper thread detector.

METHOD FOR MONITORING AND CONTROLLING THE SUPPLY OF A THREAD TO A TEXTILE MACHINE AND SUPPLY DEVICE THEREOF

A method monitors/controls unwinding and supplying thread from a supply device to a textile machine. The supply device includes a control unit and a thread collection and supply unit moved by a motor. A first sensor detects first data indicative of a current driving torque applied to the collection and supply unit. A second sensor detects second data indicative of a current tension value of thread supplied to the textile machine. A first indicator representing driving torque values is calculated, each variation of the first indicator representing a variation of the driving torque value to compensate for a deviation of the first data. A second indicator is calculating representing tension values applied to the thread supplied to the textile machine. Each variation of the second indicator representing a deviation of the second data. Based on the indicators, malfunctions in the unwinding and supply of thread are detected and signaled.
