The present disclosure provides a manifold that can be easily attached to a medical or dental chair in which a patient sits and a flexible arm and funnel connected to the manifold and configured to receive a High Volume Evacuator (HVE) tube. The flexible arm which holds the funnel is configured to be sufficiently rigid to maintain its shape and position, allowing a clinical practitioner to leave the funnel in the appropriate place to capture aerosols emitted from a patient during a procedure use the negative pressure from the HVE. Thus, also provided herein is a method of using the disclosed manifold to remove aerosols emitted during a clinical procedure.

Thus, the adapter can be mounted to the collar by placing the one or more quick release structures into the one or more attachment openings, and the adapter can be disengaged and removed from the collar by manually articulating the quick release structures without the use of tools. The bottle, collar, and quick release adapter may be mounted to a new or existing dental water supply mounting bracket using the mounting bracket attachment slots.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR CAPTURING AEROSOL DURING DENTAL PROCEDURES AND METHODS

Arrangements for capturing aerosol during dental procedures include an extraoral suction device and a blower arrangement to induce an airflow zone to push aerosol to the suction device. Blower arrangements can include plenums in the form of a tube, or a face mask, or attached to safety glasses. Extraoral suction devices can be wearable in the form of appliances to be fitted onto either the patient or the dental professional. Improved extraoral suction devices can include a screen secured to a nozzle of the device.
