Bed with frame assembly

A bed that converts into a chair is provided. The bed includes a base frame assembly, an intermediate frame assembly and a patient support deck. The patient support deck includes a head deck section, an intermediate deck section and a foot deck section.

METHOD OF POWERED WIDTH EXPANSION OF A BED

A bed comprises a fixed width deck section, a wing movably coupled to the fixed width section, and a rack and pinion mechanism for extending and retracting the wing.

PATIENT SUPPORT

This disclosure describes certain exemplary embodiments of a patient support having a plurality of vertically-oriented on substantially can-shaped inflatable bladders. In one embodiment, the patient support includes a support layer positioned above the vertical bladders. In another embodiment, the patient support includes a high air loss device. In still another embodiment, the patient support includes a pneumatic device located within the patient support.

Adjustable person support system with expansion wings driven by dual leadscrews and center mounted motors

A bed comprises a deck section having a width and left and right outboard deck edges. Left side and right side wings are movably coupled to the deck section. The bed also includes a left leadscrew receiver mounted on the left wing, a right leadscrew receiver mounted on the right wing, and left and right motor assemblies both mounted on the deck section. A left leadscrew is coupled to the left motor assembly and to the left leadscrew receiver. A right leadscrew is coupled to the right motor assembly and to the right leadscrew receiver. Motor operation is capable of moving the wing to which it is coupled between a deployed position in which the lateral extremity of the wing is outboard of the respective outboard edge of the deck section and a stored position in which the lateral extremity of the wing is inboard of its deployed position.

An intrahospital vehicle for transport and transfer of obese patients designed to take a bedridden obese patient, lift the patient up and then lay the patient down onto a receiving stretcher to transfer the patient within a hospital, so that, once the target location has been reached, the patient may be transferred to an operating table, X-ray table, intensive care unit table or the like, and then transferred back to the receiving stretcher to return to the hospital bed. The vehicle includes a robust main rectangular base structure, mounted on wheels, a lower chassis formed by a rear crossbar and two side rails, from which four corner columns are projected.

Patient transfer device with differential belt-table speed control

A patient transfer device includes a table assembly having upper and lower tables with counter-rotating upper and lower belts. Means are provided to move the table assembly toward an extended position with the upper belt moving at a rotational speed which is greater than a translational speed of the table assembly. Faster movement of the upper belt may be in response to a determination that the patient has a characteristic whose value is within a predetermined range. The patient characteristic may be patient weight, e.g., with the predetermined range being less than 250 pounds. In the illustrative implementation a patient transfer device of the present invention includes a control system having a keyboard for receiving user input indicating that the upper belt should be moved faster, and control logic responsive to the user input which controls speeds of motors that independently drive the upper belt and the table assembly.

PATIENT SUPPORT USABLE WITH BARIATRIC PATIENTS

There is provided a patient support that may be adjustable in height, width, length or a combination thereof. The patient support may be useable with normal sized patients or with bariatric patients. The patient support has a variety of features to enhance operability and/or functionality, including a width adjustable caster frame, width adjustable deck portions, a width adjustable headboard and an extendible foot board to provide extra length. An enhanced lift mechanism can accommodate bariatric patients and alternative functionality in achieving deck positions improves patient comfort. Various parts of the patient support including deck panels and the footboard may be removed and replaced with ease without complicated connectors.

HOSPITAL BED WITH ADJUSTABLE WIDTH

A hospital bed includes a frame, a plurality of extendable patient support panels mounted to the frame, and a slide mechanism. Each patient support panel includes a central section and at least one coplanar side section selectively movable laterally towards and away from the central section, where the at least one coplanar side section is slidably connected to the corresponding central section. The slide mechanism allows sliding movement of the at least one side section relative to the corresponding central section.
