Person lifting apparatuses including lifting straps and methods of operation based on current draw
A person lifting apparatus includes a first lifting strap feeding device including a first drum and a first lifting strap wound on the first drum. A second lifting strap feeding device includes a second drum and a second lifting strap wound on the second drum. A controller is communicatively coupled to the first lifting strap feeding device and to the second lifting strap feeding device. The controller includes logic that controls operation of the first lifting strap feeding device and the second lifting strap feeding device based on a comparison of current draws of the first lifting strap feeding device and the second lifting strap feeding device.
Bed Base Frame
A bed base frame assembly of a bed generally comprises a base frame, a plurality of steerable and lockable casters, a lateral support assembly at the first and second sides of the base frame assembly, and an in-line support assembly at the foot end of the base frame assembly. The lateral support assembly may further include: a base frame; a first leg and a second leg rotatably connected to the base frame; a first actuator connected to the first leg and the second leg, wherein the first leg and the second leg rotate from the retracted position to the extended position; a third leg and a fourth leg rotatably connected to the base frame; and a second actuator connected to the third leg and the fourth leg, wherein the third leg and the fourth leg rotate from the retracted position to the extended position.
Surgical Tables
A surgical table having a tabletop and a column for enabling at least a part of the tabletop to be rotatable about a trend axis extending in a transverse direction across the tabletop; and an actuator mechanism coupled between the movable framework and the column and arranged to raise and lower the movable framework and the trend axis relative to the column and to rotate the movable framework about the trend axis, wherein the actuator mechanism is fitted to an external surface of the outer column element and is adapted to move the movable framework between a lowermost position, at which the trend axis extends through an upper part of the outer column element which surrounds the inner column element when the column elements are telescoped into the contracted configuration, and an uppermost position, at which the trend axis is spaced at spacing height from an uppermost part of the column
Patient transfer device
An apparatus for transferring a patient or other body comprises a housing, a deck at least partially disposed within the housing, and a continuous belt disposed about the deck. The housing is formed with first and second sides coupled to first and second ends, and a panel attached to the sides and ends to provide structural rigidity to the apparatus. The deck is coupled to the housing, and the continuous belt circulates around the deck to transfer a body from a first surface at a first side of the housing to a second surface at a second side of the housing.
SUPPORT PANEL PIVOTING SYSTEM FOR A PATIENT SUPPORT DEVICE
A backrest pivoting system can have a backrest and an actuator for pivoting the backrest. The actuator is pivotably connected to the backrest by a pivot defining a first pivot axis. The backrest can pivot about a guide member which defines a second pivot axis coaxial with the first pivot axis. A backrest pivoting system can include an actuator and a resilient member mounted in series with the actuator. There is also provided an extendable user support assembly comprising a lower body support panel and a core support panel supported by a frame, the lower body support panel being translatable relative to the frame such that an opening is created between the lower body support panel and the core support panel when the lower body support panel is translated away from the core support panel. There is also provided a method for placing a bed in a vascular position.
Patient support apparatus with frame guard
A patient support apparatus for traversing objects supported on ground surfaces. The patient support apparatus comprises a patient support deck, and a base to support the patient support deck from the ground surface. At pair of caster wheel assemblies spaced from each other are coupled to the base for pivoting movement about respective pivot axes cooperating to define a reference plane. A frame guard coupled to the base defines first and second ramp surfaces each disposed at an angle relative to the reference plane. The first ramp surface is arranged to engage objects before they contact one or more of the caster wheels when the patient support apparatus moves in a first direction. The second ramp surface is arranged to engage objects before they contact one or more of the caster wheels when the patient support apparatus moves in an opposite, second direction.
Patient Support System Including Expandable Patient Support And Control Assembly
A patient support system is provided for use on a litter of a patient support apparatus. The patient support system includes an expandable patient support and a control assembly connectable to the expandable patient support. The control assembly includes an inflator and a controller configured to provide pressure in one or more inner bladders at a first value when the expandable patient support is at a first width and reduce the pressure in the one or more inner bladders to a second value, lower than the first value, in response to inflating one or more outer bladders to expand the expandable patient support to a second width.
Surgical Table Top Accessory with Sacral Offloading Attachment
An improved surgical table top accessory with a sacral offloading attachment.
Support panel pivoting system for a patient support device
There is provided a backrest pivoting system having a backrest and an actuator for pivoting the backrest. The actuator is pivotably connected to the backrest by a pivot defining a first pivot axis. The backrest is configured to pivot about a guide member which defines a second pivot axis coaxial with the first pivot axis. There is also provided a backrest pivoting system including an actuator and a resilient member mounted in series with the actuator.
Device and method for moving bedridden patients
A system for repositioning patients including a plate assembly and a strap assembly. The system includes at least two plates including a first portion and a second portion mounted to the first portion and configured to receive a strap assembly therein. A user utilizes the system for repositioning patients every 2-3 hours per healthcare industry standards of care to prevent the patient from contracting bed sores.
