Powered roll-in cots
According to one embodiment, a roll-in cot may include a support frame, a pair of back legs, a pair of front legs, and a cot actuation system. The pair of back legs and the pair of front legs can be slidingly coupled to the support frame. Each of the pair of front legs can include a front wheel and an intermediate load wheel. The intermediate load wheel is offset from the front wheel by a load wheel distance. A front actuator can raise the pair of front legs such that the front wheel and the intermediate load wheel of each of the pair of front legs are aligned along a loading level. The intermediate load wheel of each of the pair of front legs can be offset from the pair of back legs by a loading span. The load wheel distance can be greater than the loading span.
Surgical tables
A surgical table having a rack and pinion mechanism that includes: a pair of opposed first and second curved racks mounted on opposite sides of the pivot axis, the racks facing inwardly towards the pivot axis and being oriented upwardly, a pair of first and second rotatable pinions, each first and second pinion arranged to engage a respective first and second curved rack, and a drive system, including a drive motor, connected to the pinions for rotating the first and second pinions in a common rotational direction, the drive system being configured so that the first and second pinions move in opposite respective upward or downward directions along the respective first and second curved racks to rotate the movable framework about the pivot axis.
Surgical tables
A surgical table having an actuator mechanism that includes first and second actuators, wherein the first actuator has an upper first end connected to a first portion of the movable framework and a lower second end coupled to the column and the second actuator has an upper first end connected to a second portion of the movable framework and a lower second end coupled to the column, the first and second portions being mutually spaced and located on opposite sides of the trend axis, wherein the first and second actuators are each inclined at a respective acute angle in opposite directions from a plane including a longitudinal axis of the column and the trend axis so that the upper first end of each of the first and second actuators is oriented further from the plane than the respective lower second end.
Patient support usable with bariatric patients
There is provided a patient support that may be adjustable in height, width, length or a combination thereof. The patient support may be useable with normal sized patients or with bariatric patients. The patient support has a variety of features to enhance operability and/or functionality, including a width adjustable caster frame, width adjustable deck portions, a width adjustable headboard and an extendible foot board to provide extra length. An enhanced lift mechanism can accommodate bariatric patients and alternative functionality in achieving deck positions improves patient comfort. Various parts of the patient support including deck panels and the footboard may be removed and replaced with ease without complicated connectors.
Bed base frame
A bed base frame assembly of a bed generally comprises a base frame, a plurality of steerable and lockable casters, a lateral support assembly at the first and second sides of the base frame assembly, and an in-line support assembly at the foot end of the base frame assembly. The lateral support assembly may further include: a base frame; a first leg and a second leg rotatably connected to the base frame; a first actuator connected to the first leg and the second leg, wherein the first leg and the second leg rotate from the retracted position to the extended position; a third leg and a fourth leg rotatably connected to the base frame; and a second actuator connected to the third leg and the fourth leg, wherein the third leg and the fourth leg rotate from the retracted position to the extended position.
SYSTEM FOR ADJUSTING A CONFIGURATION OF A PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS
An adjusting system for adjusting a configuration of a bed, the bed comprising a central frame and a side panel movable relative to the central frame, is disclosed. In one embodiment, the adjusting system is provided with a clutch assembly. In another embodiment, the adjusting system is provided with a telescopic handle assembly.
BARIATRIC WHEELCHAIR
There is described a bariatric wheelchair, in particular a manual wheelchair, that includes a wheelchair chassis, a seating area provided on the wheelchair chassis, a backrest supported onto the wheelchair chassis, as well as front wheels and rear wheels provided on the wheelchair chassis to allow wheeling of the wheelchair. The backrest exhibits a lower backrest portion supported onto the wheelchair chassis, next to the seating area, the seating area and lower backrest portion having a first width (W1) that is selected to accommodate a wheelchair user's nominal hips width (WH) ranging between 500 millimeters and 800 millimeters. The backrest further exhibits an upper backrest portion, in the vicinity of the wheelchair user's shoulders, having a second width (W2) that is smaller than the first width (W1), which second width (W2) is selected to liberate space for movement of the wheelchair user's arms and shoulders and so as not to exceed a wheelchair user's nominal shoulder articulation width (WS) ranging between 400 millimeters and 600 millimeters.
WHEELCHAIR, IN PARTICULAR MANUAL WHEELCHAIR FOR BARIATRIC OR HEAVY DUTY USE
There is described a wheelchair, in particular a manual wheelchair for bariatric or heavy-duty use, that includes a wheelchair chassis, a seating area, a backrest, as well as front wheels and rear wheels, said backrest having a backrest frame supported onto the wheelchair chassis. The wheelchair further includes a rolling support structure forming an integral part of the wheelchair, which rolling support structure is mounted on a rear portion of the wheelchair to support the wheelchair in an upright position in which the wheelchair is tilted back and is supported by the rolling support structure to allow displacement of the wheelchair in the upright position. The rolling support structure includes at least three, in particular four, rolling elements providing rolling support for the wheelchair in the upright position. The rolling elements preferably provide omnidirectional rolling support for the wheelchair in the upright position, and may in particular be ball casters
System for absorbing sweat from within a skinfold of a patient
A tissue retraction system that allows aeration in a skinfold of a patient needing medical attention may include a flexible frame having a defined body shape comprising an internal facing surface configured to face a crease in the skinfold, an external facing surface opposite the internal facing surface configured to face outwardly and away from the patient, a first tissue facing surface, and a second tissue facing surface opposing the first tissue facing surface. Each of the first and the second tissue facing surfaces may be configured to engage against opposing sides of the skinfold.
