The vehicle would be on a dispatched network and be activated after an incident, and for scheduled cleanings on a regular basis; the vehicle having the required equipment to clean all contaminated gear by use of a sonic cleaner, extractors, and dryers. The process includes monitoring the life of the gear and decontaminating the gear in accordance with the gear manufacturer's recommendations. Gear that has been cleaned is reassembled, wrapped, sealed and placed back into a fireman's station, giving the firefighter the assurance that their firefighting gear was cleaned, sanitized, and serviced per the manufacturer's recommendations.

A washing method using steam and a washing machine are provided. The method includes: feeding water into an outer drum, and stopping feeding the water when a water inflow level reaches a preset water level, the preset water level is determined based on a position of an outer drum heating device and a position of a bottom of an inner drum, heating the water inside the outer drum, and stopping heating the water when it is heated for preset time or heated to a preset temperature, and performing a steam washing of the clothes.

A washing method using steam and a washing machine are provided.
