Laundry appliances cold water sanitization
A laundry appliance includes a cabinet defining an opening with a laundry vessel mounted within the cabinet. The laundry vessel defines a treatment chamber. The laundry appliance also includes an electrolytic hypochlorous acid generator upstream of the treatment chamber with respect to a flow of cold water through the laundry appliance and a controller. The controller may be configured for and/or a method of sanitizing the laundry appliance may include opening a valve upstream of the electrolytic hypochlorous acid generator to provide the flow of cold water through the laundry appliance, confirming the presence of the cold water in the laundry appliance after opening the valve, and activating the electrolytic hypochlorous acid generator after confirming the presence of the cold water in the laundry appliance.
ELECTRODE PLATE, ELECTROLYSIS APPARATUS, AND LAUNDRY TREATMENT DEVICE
The embodiments of the present disclosure provide an electrode plate, an electrolysis apparatus, and a laundry treatment device. Multiple through holes penetrating the electrode plate in the thickness direction of the electrode plate are formed in the electrode plate. The density of the through holes in the electrode plate is 1-10/cm.sup.2. According to the electrode plate in the embodiments of the present disclosure, on the one hand, because the density of surface charge at the junction of the inner wall of the through hole and the surface of the electrode plate is larger, and the electric field intensity nearby is higher, the electrolysis efficiency can be greatly improved, more active substances such as hydroxyl radicals and active chlorine can be generated, and more microbubbles can also be generated, which can improve the sterilization, cross color prevention and washing effects.
Washing machine and method of controlling the same
A washing machine which performs a washing operation by heating water, a detergent, or a wash liquid using a dielectric heating method and a method of controlling the washing machine. The washing machine may include a water supply portion which supplies a wash liquid including water and a detergent, a power supply portion which supplies alternating current (AC) power, and an electric field forming portion which forms an electric field between a first electrode portion and a second electrode portion according to the AC power to heat the supplied wash liquid.
Device For Activating A Mediator Species
The invention relates to a device for activating a mediator species by way of electrolysis, including a voltage source and an anode connected to the voltage source and a cathode connected to the voltage source, the anode being enclosed in a liquid-permeable, electrically non-conductive sheath.
Water disinfection body for use in a water reservoir
The present invention relates to an electrolysis body suitable for water disinfection for use in a water reservoir having a definite internal volume comprising a) a pair of electrodes made of a conductive material suitable for providing electrolysis, b) means for applying current to the electrodes, c) an insert unit having a first side and a second side opposite each other, wherein the first side faces out of the water reservoir when the insert unit is placed in position in the water reservoir in use for water disinfection and the second side faces into the volume of the water reservoir when placed in position in the water reservoir in use for water disinfection, and d) optionally a filter unit extending from the second side of the insert unit. The present invention also concerns a water reservoir comprising the body, as well as a washing system comprising the water reservoir.
LAUNDRY WASHING MACHINE
A laundry washing machine having an outer casing, washing tub, rotatable drum inside the tub, detergent dispenser, and fresh-water supply circuit for channeling fresh water to the tub. The machine has an electrochemical device having: an electrolytic cell to convert brine into chlorine-based sanitizing agent, an unpressurized salt container to contain consumable salt grains, a water supply line to channel water into the salt container to dissolve the salt grains and form brine, and an unpressurized brine container that communicates with the salt container and collects brine formed in the salt container to avoid prolonged stagnation of the water/brine in the salt container. The electrolytic cell communicates with the brine container so as to receive the brine contained therein.
WATER-USING ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A WATER-USING ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE
A water-bearing electrical apparatus having a water absorption element and an electrochemical cell which has a cathode arranged in a cathode space and an anode arranged in an anode space, which are spatially separated, wherein the electrochemical cell is designed to generate an alkaline partial solution in the cathode space and an acidic partial solution in the anode space when it contains a conductivity transmitter-containing medium and the DC voltage is applied to the anode and the cathode, and to heat a fluid located in the cathode and anode spaces when the AC voltage is applied to the anode and the cathode. A method includes generating an alkaline partial solution in the cathode space and an acidic partial solution in the anode space while applying DC voltage, applying AC voltage to heat fluid in the electrochemical cell, and conveying the alkaline partial solution into the water absorption element.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A WATER-CONDUCTING ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE AND WATER-CONDUCTING ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE
A water-bearing electrical apparatus and a method of operating a water-bearing electrical apparatus having a water absorption element, an electrochemical cell, a dosing device for metering a conductivity transmitter-containing detergent and/or cleaning means into the electrochemical cell. The method includes conducting water into the electrochemical cell, dosing of the conductivity transmitter-containing washing and/or cleaning means into the electrochemical cell or into the water flowing through it, determining a conductance of the fluid in the electrochemical cell following the prior steps, and setting the determined conductance to a predetermined conductance.
