Driving apparatus for washing machine and washing machine having the same
A washing machine driving apparatus and a washing machine having the same, capable of minimizing the coupling structure of a clutch and a motor and including a stator provided in a shape of a ring, a rotor disposed around the stator and rotating by electromagnetic interaction with the stator, and a clutch configured to transmit a rotary force of the rotor selectively to the rotating tub and the pulsator, wherein the stator comprises a stator core, an upper insulator covering an upper portion of the stator core and a lower insulator covering a lower portion of the stator core, and wherein the upper insulator has a mounting part protruding upward from an upper side of the upper insulator such that the clutch is coupled to the upper insulator.
Washing machine appliance and suspension assembly for same
Washing machine appliances and suspension assemblies for suspending tubs in washing machine appliances are provided. A suspension assembly includes a frame, a mount seated on the frame, and a rod coupled to the mount. The rod is rotatable about a pivot point. The suspension assembly further includes a sensor assembly operable to monitor rotation of the rod. The sensor assembly includes a sensor and a reference surface. One of the sensor or the reference surface is coupled to the rod and rotatable with the rod relative to the other of the sensor or the reference surface. The sensor is operable to measure reference distances from the reference surface.
Acoustical treatment for a rotor of a laundry appliance
A drive motor for a laundry appliance includes a stator having a plurality of windings that extend around teeth of the stator. A rotor is in electromagnetic communication with the stator. The rotor is coupled to a drive shaft that extends through the stator. When the winding of the stator is electrically energized, the rotor rotates relative to the stator at a predetermined range of rotational frequencies that includes a baseline natural frequency of the rotor. A harmonic-modulating member is attached to the rotor that modulates the baseline natural frequency of the rotor to be a modulated natural frequency. The predetermined range of rotational frequencies is free of the modulated natural frequency of the rotor.
Dual-drum washing machine
A double-drum washing machine comprises a first outer drum and a second outer drum which are respectively provided with a drum inside, wherein the second outer drum is provided with a connecting part which protrudes out of a surface of the second outer drum and which is molded integrally, the connecting part extends towards the first outer drum along a radial direction from the surface of the second outer drum, and an end part of the connecting part is in detachable connection with the first outer drum. Double drums of the double-drum washing machine are connected to be almost integrated, therefore, auxiliary fixed parts are reduced, and the connection between double drums is more stable, reliable and more compact, the vibration of the double-drum washing machine is effectively reduced during operation, the noise pollution of the double-drum washing machine is reduced, and additional counterweight is not required.
Balancer and washing machine having the same
A balancer includes a balancer housing having an annular channel defined therein, at least one mass movably disposed in the channel, at least one magnet coupled to one side of the balancer housing to restrain movement of the mass along the channel when rotational speed of a drum of the washing machine is within a predetermined range, and an inclined sidewall formed at an inner surface of the balancer housing to support the mass in a direction resisting centrifugal force applied to the mass during rotation of the drum.
