Adjustable breast pump flange
An adjustable breast pumping flange is provided. The breast pumping flange allows for adjustment of the flange angle relative to a bottle to which the flange connects. This allows for a nursing mother to more comfortably position the flanges and bottles during a pumping session. This increased comfort in turn allows for improved and more efficient milk collection.
Lifting device for disabled person
The invention provides an electronically control motorized lifting device for transfer of a paraplegic between seated positions. A post extends from a wheeled base and movably supports a head for upwards and downwards movement. A lifting arm arrangement is pivotably secured to the head. The head is also rotatable about the post and the base movable between an expanded stabilizing condition and a retracted condition. The latter condition allows the lifting device to fit through a standard width doorway. Movement of the base between these conditions is effected by pivoting of the lifting arm arrangement into and out of a lateral supporting position. The base preferably includes five legs extending substantially radially from the post with two of the legs foldable towards adjacent legs.
Rolling medical bedside bathing tub
A rolling medical bedside bathing tub is designed and configured to facilitate bathing for bedridden and other people with limited mobility. The bathing tub includes a bottom wall forming the bottom side of the bathing tub and a plurality of sidewalls extending from the bottom walls to define an enclosure. The bathing tub may include a backrest and an extendable seat to assist people in maintaining balance within the tub. Preferably, the bathing tub is portable. Additionally, the bathing tub may be extendable to allow for people of varying heights and sizes. A method for using the bathing tub is also provided.
Lift systems with strain gauges incorporated in load beams and methods for operating the same
Overhead lift units are disclosed. In one embodiment, an overhead lift unit includes a carriage having wheels engageable with a rail, a lift frame coupled to the carriage such that the lift frame is suspended from the carriage, and a pair of load beams. The lift frame includes a lift strap extending from the lift frame and a pair of connection points extending from the lift frame. Each load beam of the pair of load beams is attached to one connection point of the pair of connection points of the lift frame at an inferior end of the load beam. Each load beam of the pair of load beams is attached to the carriage at a superior end of the load beam. And each load beam of the pair of load beams comprises a strain gauge operable to register a weight supported on the lift strap.
Patient support with energy transfer
A patient support system includes a patient support apparatus and a powered device mounted relative to the patient support apparatus and an electrical circuit to power the powered device, with the electrical circuit having a wireless power receiver to inductively couple to and transfer electrical energy from a wireless power transmitter when the wireless power receiver is in proximity to the wireless power transmitter.
SYSTEM FOR APPLYING THERAPY TO A HUMAN BODY
In one embodiment, there is provided a system for applying therapy to a human body. The system includes a coupling apparatus and a supporting apparatus. The coupling apparatus is configured to couple to an upper body portion of a user. The supporting apparatus is configured to support at least a portion of a weight of the user. An amount of weight that is supported is adjustable. In some embodiments, the system may further include a control apparatus configured to control at least one of a state and/or a position of the supporting apparatus.
HYPERBARIC OXYGEN CHAMBER MANUFACTURED UTILITIZING ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
The present invention relates to an adaptive hyperbaric oxygen chamber designed to function as a medical apparatus in order to treat a subject suffering from any FDA approved medical condition. The hyperbaric oxygen chamber is designed and constructed in such a way that only one subject can be allowed to sit in an upright seated position, unless a pediatric seat is occupied by a pediatric patient and an adult is seated in the standard seat to accompany the pediatric patient. The upright patient seat when treating a pediatric patient is in the extended position while the occupant enters and exits the mono medical hyperbaric oxygen chamber and the seat is returned to the fixed position inside the hyperbaric oxygen chamber while the overhead door is closed. The hyperbaric oxygen chamber is made using additive manufacturing technology and can fit into the office of a physician.
Patient stand assist devices with features for governing the assist path
A patient assisting system includes a frame having a sling assembly attachment point and a lifting arm which is movable relative to the frame and which includes a receptacle. When the sling assembly is attached to the attachment point and extends through the receptacle, a portion of the sling travels through the receptacle as the lifting arm moves relative to the frame. Another embodiment includes exactly one four bar linkage comprised of a frame having an attachment point for a sling assembly, a lifting arm having a receptacle, a lower cross arm and an upper cross arm. The lifting arm is adapted to be movable between a person-seated position and a person-standing position. The receptacle is located along the lifting arm so that motion of the lifting arm causes the receptacle to move along a curved path having a concave side which is person-facing.
Toilet with internal frame and shroud
A toilet comprising a frame; a bowl supported by the frame; a seat supported by the frame; and an at least partially removable shroud for covering the frame is disclosed. A medical toilet comprising a bowl supported by a frame; a seat supported by the frame; one or more health and wellness assessment devices; and an at least partially removable shroud for covering the frame is also disclosed.
Toilet with internal lifting system
A toilet including a frame; a bowl supported by the frame; a seat supported by the frame; an at least partially removable shroud for covering the frame; and at least one first seat actuator pivotally attached to the frame and to the seat for adjusting the height or angle of the seat; and at least one second seat actuator pivotally attached to the frame and to the seat for adjusting the height or angle of the seat is disclosed. Also, a toilet including a frame; a bowl supported by the frame; a seat supported by the frame; an at least partially removable shroud for covering the bowl, frame, and other toilet components; at least one first seat actuator pivotally attached to the frame and to the seat for lifting and lowering the seat or changing the angle of the seat with the user sitting thereon; at least one second seat actuator pivotally attached to the frame and to the seat for lifting and lowering the seat or changing the angle of the seat with the user sitting thereon; and at least one third seat actuator pivotally attached to the at least one first seat actuator or to the at least one second seat actuator and to the frame for raising and lowering the seat or changing the angle of the seat with the user sitting thereon is also disclosed.
