LAUNDRY DRYER

A laundry dryer having a drum, a casing supporting the drum and including a basement defining a basement plane, a basement process air conduit located in the basement and extending within the basement for a given length and having a basement air conduit width, and a heat pump having a first heat exchanger where refrigerant is cooled off and the process air is heated up, and a second heat exchanger where refrigerant is heated up and the process air is cooled off. The first heat and second heat exchangers are in the basement process air conduit to perform heat exchange between said refrigerant flowing in said heat pump circuit and said process air. The width of the basement air conduit along a first portion of its extension in the basement is wider than 50% of the width of the basement.

LAUNDRY DRYER

A laundry dryer including: a drum, a motor to rotate the drum, a casing supporting the drum and including a rear wall and a front wall, a basement having first, second, third and fourth quarters with the first and third quarters on one side of a plane perpendicular to the basement plane and parallel to the drum axis, and the second and fourth quarters on an opposite side of the plane, a process air conduit in fluid communication with the drum and including a basement process air conduit located in the basement, and a heat pump circuit including a compressor, and first and second heat exchangers . The first and second heat exchangers are in the basement process air conduit mainly within third and fourth quarters, and the motor and compressor are mainly in, respectively, in the first and second quarters.

Dryer with heat pump

A dryer with a heat pump that includes a cabinet, a drum installed within the cabinet, and an exhaust duct configured to exhaust air from the drum to outside of the cabinet. The dryer also includes a fan configured to inhale air from the drum and pump the air to the exhaust duct, an evaporator configured to exchange heat with air being exhausted through the exhaust duct, and a condenser disposed at a rear side of the drum. The dryer further includes an intake passage member configured to guide air that has passed through the condenser into the drum and a compressor and an expansion apparatus configured to define a heat pump along the evaporator and condenser.

DRYER APPLIANCE DRY TIME ESTIMATION

A method of operating a dryer appliance includes determining a remaining moisture content of a load of articles to be dried in the dryer appliance and estimating an energy requirement for drying the load of articles based on the determined remaining moisture content of the load of articles. The method also includes activating a heating system of the dryer appliance during a dry cycle of the dryer appliance while tracking an energy output of the heating system during the dry cycle. The method further includes comparing the tracked energy output to the estimated energy requirement. When the tracked energy output is greater than a predetermined threshold percentage of the estimated energy requirement, a user notification is provided.

Tumble dryer

The present disclosure relates to a tumble dryer (1) comprising a housing (2), a rotatable drum (11) in the housing being accessible from a front side (3) of the housing, and a fan arrangement (13) for producing a flow of process air through the drum. A heat pump is used for drying the process air before it enters the drum, the heat pump comprising a condenser (19), a compressor (17), and an evaporator (15). The condenser 19 the compressor (17), and the evaporator (15) are arranged as components in a heat pump unit (43), wherein the heat pump unit is removable from the remainder of the tumble dryer (1) through an opening in the rear side of the tumble dryer housing without separating the components. This facilitates for instance service of the tumble dryer.
