The invention relates to a portable textile treatment device comprising a heatable soleplate (4) intended to be in contact with a textile (TXT) for treating the textile. The heatable soleplate (4) comprises a soleplate opening (H). The device comprises a module (MD) comprising an image sensor (5) for taking an image of the textile to be treated through the soleplate opening (H), and a control unit (8) configured for a) executing an algorithm stored in said portable textile treatment device, using the taken image as an input of the algorithm, to obtain a classification of the textile, and for b) controlling, based on the classification, at least one operating parameter of the portable textile treatment device. The module (MD) and the control unit (8) are integrated within the portable textile treatment device. The image sensor comprises an active surface sensitive to light which is oriented with respect to the surface of the heatable soleplate (4), with an absolute value of an orientation angle being in the range from 15 to 70 degrees. The portable textile treatment device further comprises thermal insulation means arranged in-between the heatable soleplate (4) and the module (MD) for insulating the module (MD) from heat dissipated by the heatable soleplate (4).

Aspects of the present disclosure provide a fabric smoothing apparatus comprising: a microwavable base module comprising: a first substantially planar surface, and a divot spanning the perimeter of the first substantially planar surface; and a hand grip module comprising: a hand grip disposed on a top portion of a second substantially planar surface, and a lip disposed on a bottom portion of the second substantially planar surface, wherein the hand grip module is dimensioned to releasably secure the microwavable base module via the lip securing into the divot.

Aspects of the present disclosure provide a fabric smoothing apparatus comprising: a microwavable base module comprising: a first substantially planar surface, and a divot spanning the perimeter of the first substantially planar surface; and a hand grip module comprising: a hand grip disposed on a top portion of a second substantially planar surface, and a lip disposed on a bottom portion of the second substantially planar surface, wherein the hand grip module is dimensioned to releasably secure the microwavable base module via the lip securing into the divot.

The heat plate is located proximate the first end of the body and is configured to engage ironable materials. The handle is located proximate the second end of the body and is configured to withstand forces from a user. The cover covers a portion of the body and the handle. The control compartment includes an electrical circuit, controls and a display. The control compartment is spaced away from and is at least indirectly electrically coupled to the heat plate. The insulation portion is positioned between the control compartment and the heat plate. The insulation portion includes a first layer of insulating material.

A heat press including a body, a heat plate, a handle, a cover, a control compartment and an insulation portion. The body includes a first end and a second end. The heat plate is located proximate the first end of the body and is configured to engage ironable materials. The handle is located proximate the second end of the body and is configured to withstand forces from a user. The cover covers a portion of the body and the handle. A garment steaming device includes a housing having a reservoir for containing liquid therein, a head portion connected to the housing, and a steam generator contained within the head portion, the steam generator being in fluid communication with the reservoir for generating steam from the liquid contained in the reservoir. The steam generator includes a first layer and a second layer and at least one heating element sandwiched between the first layer and the second layer. The first layer and the second layer define a steam flowpath that is configured such that steam flows back and forth between the first layer and the second layer before exiting the steam generator.

A garment steaming device includes a housing having a reservoir for containing liquid therein, a head portion connected to the housing, and a steam generator contained within the head portion, the steam generator being in fluid communication with the reservoir for generating steam from the liquid contained in the reservoir. The steam generator includes a first layer and a second layer and at least one heating element sandwiched between the first layer and the second layer. The first layer and the second layer define a steam flowpath that is configured such that steam flows back and forth between the first layer and the second layer before exiting the steam generator.

A hot iron covering assembly includes a panel that has a top side, a bottom side and a perimeter edge. The top side has a size and shape of a base of an iron. The panel comprises a flexible and heat resistant material. A securing member is configured to releasably secure the panel to the base of the iron.

A sole plate cover covers all exposed surfaces of a steam iron's sole plate to contain fluids leaking from the iron and prevent injury from contact with hot surfaces. The flexible cover includes a plate formed with a plurality of vent holes, a side wall extending outward from the plate all the way around the perimeter of the sole plate, a vent plug extending out from the plate to block a steam vent on the sole plate, and flanges configured to hold the cover to the front and rear ends of the sole plate. A sole plate cover may include a flexible strap for holding closed a water tank cover on the iron. An optional pressure relief valve on the strap blocks a vent hole on the water tank to prevent leakage, opening in the event of an over-pressure condition in the tank.
