System for detecting drainage flow obstructions in washing appliances
A method of monitoring drainage of a washing appliance such as a dishwasher or washing machine having a pump for draining a washing chamber is disclosed. The method includes receiving a time series of power consumption data relating to the operation of the washing appliance over a monitored period of operation including pumped draining of the washing chamber. A measure of the duration of a portion of the monitored period comprising said pumped draining is derived from the time series of power consumption data. The measure of duration is then compared to a reference value and an indicator of a drainage condition is determined based on the comparison. The method may be used to detect scaling or blockages in drainage flow paths.
Method and apparatus for cleaning laundry
A method for controlling a laundry washing machine. The method includes: performing a tub loading process comprising operating supply valve(s) to provide a first volume of water through a detergent supply system and into a tub to fill the tub with wash liquid; performing a washing process comprising rotating a drum to agitate laundry in in the presence of the wash liquid; performing a static rinsing process comprising operating a pump to remove any free volume of wash liquid from the tub without rotating the drum; and performing one or more rinsing processes comprising: operating the supply valve(s) to provide a volume of clean rinse water to the tub, operating the pump to remove the rinse water from the drum, and operating the motor to spin the drum at high speed to extract rinse water from the laundry, while continuing to operate the pump.
Laundry treating appliance having sensors, and methods of operation
A laundry treating appliance for treating laundry according to an automatic cycle of operation includes a cabinet defining a cabinet interior. A drum is rotatable within the cabinet interior, and at least partially defines a treating chamber. The treating chamber has a treating chamber air inlet and a treating chamber air outlet. A drying air circuit is fluidly coupled to the treating chamber air inlet and to the treating chamber air outlet. The laundry treating appliance can include first and second air temperature sensors, at least a first humidity sensor, and a controller operably coupled with the sensors.
Optimized drying cycle across a pair of laundry appliances
A method of operating a pair of laundry appliances is provided. The pair of laundry appliances includes a washing machine appliance and a dryer appliance. The method includes determining a first moisture extraction curve of a spin cycle of the washing machine appliance and determining a second moisture extraction curve of the dryer appliance. The method further includes rotating a basket of the washing machine appliance at an extraction speed for a predetermined period of time. The predetermined period of time is based on the first moisture extraction curve and the second moisture extraction curve.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A WASHING MACHINE, AND WASHING MACHINE
A washing machine and method for operating a washing machine having a suds container for holding washing liquid, a non-ribbed drum provided with stamped portions rotatably mounted in the suds container for holding laundry, a motor for driving the drum, and a control device. During rotation of the drum in a subcritical rotational speed range, the method includes sampling a variable related to the drum or the motor over a predetermined period of time to determine time signals of the variable, executing a frequency analysis of the time signal of the variable to determine frequency components of the variable in a predetermined frequency range, summing the frequency components at predetermined frequencies of the predetermined frequency range, and detecting, depending on the sum of the summed up frequency components, whether a loading situation where laundry is sliding in the drum is present.
DRYER APPLIANCE AND METHODS FOR DETECTING VENT OBSTRUCTION
A dryer appliance may include a cabinet, a drum, a heater assembly, a temperature sensor, and a controller. The heater assembly may be in upstream fluid communication with a drying chamber. The temperature sensor may be in upstream fluid communication with the drying chamber. The controller may be in operable communication with the heater assembly and the temperature sensor. The controller may be configured to initiate a test cycle. The test cycle may include activating the heater assembly, detecting a first temperature upstream of the drum at a first moment following activating the heater assembly, detecting a second temperature upstream of the drum at a second moment following the first moment, determining a temperature delta as a difference between the second temperature and the first temperature, comparing the temperature delta to a delta threshold, and initiating an alert message based on comparing the temperature delta to the delta threshold.
WASHING MACHINE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
A washing machine according to an aspect of the disclosure includes: a drum; a tub accommodating the drum and storing water; a drum motor configured to provide a rotation force to the drum; a water supplier configured to supply water to the tub; a hot air supplier configured to supply hot air to the drum; a current sensor configured to output a current signal corresponding to a magnitude of current applied to the drum motor; and a controller configured to perform a washing operation while controlling the water supplier and the drum motor, and perform a drying operation while controlling the hot air supplier and the drum motor.
METHOD AND CONTROL UNIT FOR OPERATING A CLEANING DEVICE IN A DELICATE WASH CYCLE, AND CLEANING DEVICE
A cleaning appliance and method for operating a cleaning appliance having a suds container and a rotatable drum, wherein the drum is arranged in the suds container, and wherein an inside of a drum casing of the drum is smooth, apart from a plurality of nubs, for causing the cleaning liquid in the drum to execute a wave motion during a cleaning process. The cleaning appliance has a feed unit and a drive. The method includes supplying a feed signal to the feed unit, wherein the feed signal causes a cleaning liquid to be fed into the suds container until a predetermined target fill level is reached. The target fill level causes the textiles to float inside the drum. The method includes supplying a motion signal to the drive when the target fill level is reached in order to cause a rotational motion of the drum.
HOME APPLIANCE SYSTEM, MOBILE APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING HOME APPLIANCES
A disclosed home appliance system comprises: a washer for washing clothes; a dryer for drying the clothes; an external server for communicating with the washer and the dryer; and a mobile device for controlling the washer and the dryer through the external server, wherein the mobile device can: acquire energy peak time information including time-specific energy billing information from the external server; display a first user interface for receiving the selection of a first interworking course of sequentially operating the washer and the dryer; determine a first cycle time of the first interworking course including a first washing time of the washer and a first drying time of the dryer, the first cycle time being required in order to perform the first interworking course; display a second user interface for receiving the selection of whether to perform the first interworking course on the basis of the energy peak time information and the first operation time; and transmit first interworking course information to the external server in response to receiving the selection of performing the first interworking course.
