Clothes treating apparatus and method for controlling same
The present invention relates to a method for controlling a clothes treating apparatus, the method comprising: a circulation step of circulating air by operating a fan; a heat exchange step of opening a refrigerant pipe by controlling an expansion valve, and circulating a refrigerant by operating a compressor; a circulation termination step of terminating the operation of the fan when the dryness level of clothes stored in a receiving part reaches a predetermined reference dryness level or when the elapsed time of the heat exchange step reaches a predetermined reference time; and a return step of closing the refrigerant pipe by controlling the expansion valve, and returning the refrigerant and lubricant in the refrigerant pipe to the compressor by operating the compressor.
Tumble dryer
The present disclosure relates to a tumble dryer 1 with a rotatable drum 11 and a heat pump for drying process air that enters the drum, the heat pump comprising a condenser 19, a compressor 17, and an evaporator 15. In order to improve energy efficiency, the rotatable drum comprises a circular rear wall with air inlet openings and a radial cylindrical wall with air outlet openings, the compressor 17 is adapted to be run by an inverter 29, allowing the compressor output to be varied, and the expansion 16 is controllable. This allows the heat pump arrangement to be controlled to an optimum heat pump cycle envelope.
Laundry treating apparatus
A laundry treating apparatus is disclosed. The laundry treating apparatus includes a cabinet configured to define a receiving space for receiving laundry, the cabinet having an open surface, a door hingedly provided at the cabinet for opening and closing the open surface of the cabinet, a laundry support unit provided in the receiving space for supporting laundry, and a machinery compartment provided in the cabinet for defining a space that is separate from the receiving space, the machinery compartment being provided therein with an air supply unit for dehumidifying or heating air in the receiving space and supplying the dehumidified or heated air into the receiving space. The air supply unit dehumidifies air in a room that communicates with the receiving space in the state in which the door is open.

A method for controlling an expansion valve of a frequency conversion heat pump clothes dryer. The open degree of the valve is adjusted through parameters such as the operation time/power/current at a frequency of the frequency conversion compressor; a reference value of the operation time/power/current at a certain frequency is set, and compared with an actual value of the operation time/power/current at the certain frequency of the compressor; if the actual value of the operation time is less than the set reference value or the actual value of the power/current is greater than the reference value, the open degree of the expansion value is increased; and if the actual value of the operation time is greater than the set reference value or the actual value of the power/current is less than the set reference value, the open degree of the expansion valve is decreased.
Dryer appliances including an air circulation duct
A dryer appliance including an air circulation duct is provided herein. The dryer appliance may also include a cabinet, a drum, an air handler, and a heat exchange section. The air circulation duct may define a recirculation loop with the drum. The air circulation duct may define a drum air inlet upstream from the drum and a drum air outlet downstream from the drum. The air circulation duct may further define a predetermined leakage port in fluid communication between the recirculation loop and the interior volume of the cabinet. The air handler may be disposed along the air circulation duct in fluid communication between the drum air outlet and the drum air inlet. The heat exchange section may be disposed along the air circulation duct in thermal communication with air within the recirculation loop.

CORROSION RESISTANCE IN HEAT PUMP AND LAUNDRY APPLIANCES
A heat pump appliance may include a cabinet, a sealed thermodynamic assembly, a blower fan, a temperature sensor, and a controller. The sealed thermodynamic assembly may include a fluid compressor, an evaporator, and a condenser disposed along the air path. The temperature sensor may be mounted to the evaporator to detect temperature at the evaporator. The controller may be configured to direct a drying operation. The drying operation may include activating the fluid compressor to motivate a refrigerant through the sealed thermodynamic assembly, activating the blower fan to motivate the airflow across the condenser, directing the fluid compressor to an inactive state following activating the blower fan, detecting an evaporator temperature at the temperature sensor while the fluid compressor is in the inactive state following activating the blower fan, and adjusting activation of the blower fan based on the detected evaporator temperature.
Condenser tumble dryer comprising a temperature sensor, and method for the operation thereof
The invention relates to a condenser tumble dryer with a drum for articles to be dried, a drive motor for the drum, a process air duct, a process air blower, a heating and cooling system for the process air, a temperature sensor and a control device. The temperature sensor is an infrared telescope and is arranged to simultaneously measure heat radiation from at least two components of the condenser tumble dryer which are to be monitored. The invention also relates to a method for operating a condenser tumble dryer of said type.

A method for the determination of a laundry weight in a laundry treatment appliance. The method includes selecting a laundry program in the laundry treatment appliance; starting the selected laundry program; sensing a plurality of parameters indicating operating conditions of the laundry treatment appliance during the laundry program; and predicating a weight of the laundry present within the laundry treatment appliance based on said plurality of parameters by means of a data-driven soft sensor.
