METHOD FOR CONTROLLING LAUNDRY TREATMENT APPARATUS
A method for controlling a laundry treatment apparatus is disclosed. The laundry treatment apparatus includes an upper treatment device and a lower treatment device. The upper treatment device includes a drying drum in which target laundry to be dried is placed, an upper driver to rotate the drying drum, a circulation passage unit through which air flows into or out of the drying drum, a heat exchanger to dehumidify and heat the air, and a steam generator to supply steam to the drying drum. The lower treatment device includes a tub to store wash water therein, a washing drum provided in the tub so that target laundry to be washed is put into the washing machine and the laundry is washed and dried, a tub heater provided in the tub to heat the wash water, and a lower driver to rotate the washing drum. The method for controlling the laundry treatment apparatus includes performing, by the lower treatment device, a washing course including a water supply step, a washing (rinsing) step, and a dehydration step, and performing, by the upper treatment device, a drying course including a hot air supply step, a fan operation step, and a dryness sensing step, wherein the lower treatment device performs the washing course by changing a configuration of at least one of an operation of the tub heater, an execution time of the washing course, and an operation of the lower driver according to a progress state of the drying course, thereby performing the washing course.

A washing machine includes a first tub storing water; a first drum provided to be rotatable in the first tub; a first driving motor for rotating the first drum; a second tub storing water; a second drum provided to be rotatable in the second tub; a second driving motor for rotating the second drum; at least one heater for heating water stored in at least one of the first tub and the second tub; and a controller configured to determine whether the at least one heater and the second driving motor are operating at a time to operate the first driving motor, and control operation of the second driving motor to be stopped and control the first driving motor to be operated when the at least one heater and the second driving motor are operating.
WASHING APPARATUS AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF
A method for controlling a washing apparatus including a power supply device is provided. The method includes controlling driving of a motor in a normal washing mode, determining temperature of the power supply device, controlling driving of the motor in an overheating prevention mode for reducing power consumption by the motor, when the temperature of the power supply device is equal to or higher than a first temperature, and repeating the driving in the overheating prevention mode multiple times such that the temperature of the power supply device is below a second temperature lower than the first temperature, wherein the repeating of the driving in the overheating prevention mode multiple times comprises controlling driving of a heater for heating washing water such that power consumption by the heater increases, when a number of times of driving in the overheating prevention mode is greater than a predetermined value.

Disclosed is a laundry treatment apparatus configured to directly heat a drum containing laundry therein. The laundry treatment apparatus comprising: a cabinet forming an external appearance of the laundry treatment apparatus; a tub provided in the cabinet; a drum configured to rotate within the tub and to contain laundry therein, the drum being formed of a metallic material; an induction module provided at an outer surface of the tub and configured to heat the drum within the tub via induction by generating a magnetic field; and
wherein the outer surface of the tub comprises at least one mounting portion that is configured to mount the induction module, with at least part of the at least one mounting portion being arranged radially closer to a rotational axis of the drum than a remaining portion of the outer surface of the tub.

A laundry treating apparatus includes a tub, a drum for receiving an object therein, an induction heater for heating an outer circumferential face of the drum, a motor for rotating the drum, and a power supply for supplying power from an external power source to the laundry treating apparatus, a relay for interrupting current to be applied from the power supply to the induction heater via an electrical wire, a processor connected to the relay via a control wire and configured to control an operation of the relay and to control an operation of the induction heater and an operation of the motor, and a first safety device disposed at the control wire to interrupt a control signal to be applied from the processor to the relay. The first safety device operates in response to a temperature change thereof.

A laundry treating apparatus includes a tub, a drum for receiving an object therein, an induction heater for heating an outer circumferential face of the drum, a motor for rotating the drum, and a power supply for supplying power from an external power source to the laundry treating apparatus, a relay for interrupting current to be applied from the power supply to the induction heater via an electrical wire, a processor connected to the relay via a control wire and configured to control an operation of the relay and to control an operation of the induction heater and an operation of the motor, and a first safety device disposed at the control wire to interrupt a control signal to be applied from the processor to the relay. The first safety device operates in response to a temperature change thereof.

The electric field generator includes an anode electrode spaced apart from the drum, fixed to the cabinet, and configured to apply the electric field to the target object, a power supply unit configured to supply the power to the anode electrode, and a matcher configured to match a source impedance of the power and an impedance of a load side. The drum is configured to rotate at an agitating rotation speed in a state in which the power supplied to the anode electrode is stopped, the agitating rotation speed being (i) greater than 0 rpm and (ii) less than 50 rpm.
