Provided is a laundry treating apparatus having a cleaning nozzle and a method for controlling the cleaning nozzle. The laundry treating apparatus may include a main body having a tub, and a circulation path formed outside the tub to circulate air from the tub along the circulation path outside the tub. A cleaning nozzle may be provided at the circulation path, and configured to inject water. A water supply passage may be provided having one side connected to a water supply source and another side connected to the cleaning nozzle. A water supply valve may be provided to open and close the water supply passage. A controller may control the water supply valve to supply water to the cleaning nozzle. The controller may control the water supply valve to supply water to the cleaning nozzle during a drain course among a plurality of drain courses.

Laundry machine and method for controlling the same

A method for controlling a laundry machine is provided, including an air supply cycle in which heated or unheated air is supplied to items received in a holding space. The air supply cycle may include initiating operation of a fan for circulating the air in the holding space, the fan being provided in a duct that forms a flow passage for circulating the air in the holding space, and spraying cleaning water onto a filter for removing foreign matter from the filter, the filter being positioned under the fan for removing foreign matter from air being introduced into the duct from the holding space. Spraying cleaning water onto the filter for removing foreign matter from the filter is not performed at the same time as initiating operation of the fan.

Laundry treatment apparatus and method for operating the same

A laundry treatment apparatus includes a cabinet, a condensed water collector that is disposed in the cabinet and defines a collection space configured to receive condensed water therein, a discharge pump assembly disposed at the condensed water collector and configured to pump the condensed water from the condensed water collector, a water discharge container configured to receive the condensed water collector pumped from the condensed water collector, and a sterilization module configured to sterilize the condensed water in the condensed water collector.

A clothes treating apparatus including a drum, an air suction duct forming a flow path of air introduced into the drum, an auxiliary fan introducing air into the air suction duct, an air exhaustion duct forming a flow path of air exhausted from the drum, a main fan exhausting air to the air exhaustion duct from the drum, a condenser heating air sucked into the drum through the air suction duct, an evaporator cooling air exhausted from the drum through the air exhaustion duct, and a compressor and an expander forming a heat pump together with the condenser and the evaporator. The method includes measuring a discharge side pressure of the compressor, and comparing the measured discharge side pressure with a maximum allowable pressure, and determining that the auxiliary fan does not operate when the discharge side pressure is more than the maximum allowable pressure.

Controlling a laundry dryer with a variable drum rotation speed and a variable fan rotation speed

A method is provided for controlling a laundry dryer including a laundry drum (12) with a variable drum rotation speed (vd) and a drying air stream fan (18) with a variable fan rotation speed (vf). The method includes the steps of setting a course of the drum rotation speed (vd) or a course of a drum motor power (Pd) of the laundry drum (12), and setting a fan rotation speed (vf) and/or a fan motor power (Pf) of the drying air stream fan (18) on the basis of the drum rotation speed (vd) and/or the drum motor power (Pd) of the laundry drum (12). The fan rotation speed (vf) and/or the fan motor power (Pf) of the drying air stream fan (18) is decreased with an increasing drum rotation speed (vd) and/or increasing drum motor power (Pd) of the laundry drum (12). The fan rotation speed (vf) and/or the fan motor power (Pf) of the drying air stream fan (18) is increased with a decreasing drum rotation speed (vd) and/or decreasing drum motor power (Pd) of the laundry drum (12).

LOAD ITEM DETECTION USING MOTOR DATA

Hard-to-dry items are detected in a laundry load. Drum motor data is captured from a motor powering a rotating drum of a laundry appliance. Moving range (MR) and standard deviation (STD) are determined from the drum motor data. A hard-to-dry item model is used to predict presence or absence of heavy and/or hard-to-dry items in the laundry load, the hard-to-dry item model being determined using a nominal logistic regression of at least the MR and STD of the drum motor data in situations having presence or absence of heavy and/or hard-to-dry items. Cycle parameters for a cycle of operation of the laundry appliance are updated based on the prediction by the hard-to-dry item model of presence or absence of heavy and/or hard-to-dry items.
